Grow a Garden Summer Harvest Event Just Got a Massive Buff!

The Summer Update in Grow a Garden just received a huge quality-of-life boost, making one of the most difficult events much more manageable for everyone. Whether you’re a new player or someone who’s been grinding the event already, this guide will walk you through what changed, why it matters, and the best way to farm rewards fast. What Was the Problem Before?
Initially, the Summer Harvest event only allowed submission of new seeds like:
- Cauliflower
- Green Apple
- Avocado
- Bell Pepper
- Banana
- Kiwi
- Pineapple
- Fajya
- Sugar Apple
- Loquand
- Prickly Pear
These seeds were either extremely rare or never in stock, making the event nearly impossible unless you had already hoarded them. On top of that, high-tier plants gave decent points, but anything below Mythical tier barely made a dent.
What Did the Developers Change?
Thanks to overwhelming community feedback, the devs added a much-needed buff. Here’s what’s new:
- You can now submit more common seeds: Carrots, Strawberries, Blueberries, Tomatoes, and Watermelons are all valid.
- Reward point chances have been improved for many tiers.
- It’s now much easier to climb to higher reward brackets without needing ultra-rare seeds.
This change makes the event significantly more accessible for all players, not just whales or long-time grinders.
How the Point System Works Now
Each plant still gives points based on its tier:
- Prismatic = Highest
- Divine > Mythical > Legendary
- Uncommon/Rare = 1 point per plant
While lower tiers give fewer points, you can now compensate with quantity. For example, planting 300 carrots (common) gives you 300 points, making it easier to hit milestones with volume.
Best Strategy to Farm Points Fast
If you’re looking to make the most out of this buff, here’s the best method:
1. Stock Up on Carrots and Strawberries
- Carrots grow fast and are available in large numbers.
- Strawberries take a bit longer but are still manageable.
- These seeds are cheap and common, making them ideal for mass harvesting.
2. Mass Plant and Harvest
- Plant as many carrots/strawberries as you can in your garden.
- Harvest and immediately submit them to the event board.
- Since each carrot gives 1 point, submitting hundreds will boost your score fast.
3. Use an Auto Clicker (Optional)
- Set up an auto clicker overnight at the seed shop to buy carrot seeds in bulk.
- This allows you to plant non-stop without running out of seeds.
4. Play in Public Servers
- The global harvest counter rises faster with more players, improving reward tiers for everyone in the server.
Why the Event Still Needs Work
Even with the recent buff, many players still feel the event needs better balance:
- 12,000 points are required for top-tier rewards like Prismatic seeds and rare eggs.
- Low-tier seeds like Sugar Apple only give 7 points, meaning you’d need thousands.
- The Moon Blossom and Moon Mango are also underperforming despite their high costs.
- No trading system exists yet, which causes major issues with pet scamming and limited seed access.
Players have been vocal about these issues, and while the recent buff helps, it’s clear more tweaks are needed for long-term balance.
This Summer Harvest event buff is a big step in the right direction. Players now have a clear, low-effort way to participate using carrots and other basic seeds. While the event still has flaws, especially around scaling and reward thresholds, at least everyone can grind without spending Robux or relying on rare seeds. Keep an eye on future updates, and don’t forget to farm those carrots—your path to Prismatic rewards just got a whole lot easier in Grow a Garden.
