The Mega Summer Harvest update for Grow a Garden is just around the corner, and this one is shaping up to be massive. We’re talking new seeds, new pets, craftable items, and much more. If you want to be fully prepared when the update drops, there are a few key steps you should take right now. Here’s a complete guide on the 10 most important things you should do before the Mega Harvest update goes live. Check out All Things coming to Mega Harvest Update Event and then the newest codes for Grow a Garden.

1. Save Your Money Now

With every update comes new seeds, gears, and items—this one is no different. If you’re not sitting on billions of in-game cash, now’s the time to start saving. You’re going to need money to buy new content, so avoid unnecessary spending until the update arrives.

2. Use the Tomato Method

This is one of the best ways to rack up points for the Harvest Event. Each tomato gives 3 points. If you plant around 400 tomato plants and each produces 3 tomatoes, that’s 1,200 tomatoes or 3,600 points total. It’s a quick and efficient way to farm rewards before the event changes.

3. Stack Your Inventory with a Glitch

You can bypass inventory limits using an alt account. Fill your main account’s inventory with summer plants, then gift additional items (like tomatoes) from your alt. Even if your inventory is full, you can still receive and store more items. This exploit is likely to be patched soon, so take advantage while you can.

4. Grind the Harvest Event

Right now, you only need 300 points to earn a basic seed pack from the event. That’s incredibly generous, so run the Harvest Event as much as possible to stock up. Even if the system changes after the update, you’ll keep whatever rewards you already claimed.

5. Be In-Game Before the Update

There are three major reasons to be logged in at least one hour before the update:

  • Free Mutations like “Disco” and “Alienated” can trigger just by being online.
  • Avoid Roblox Crashes: The platform often crashes before big updates. If you’re already in-game, you won’t get kicked out.
  • Free Pets: Sometimes, players get exclusive pets (like the Cocked Owl) just for being present when the update hits.

6. Don’t Harvest Key Plants

Got rare or long-growing plants like Sunflowers? Don’t harvest them yet. Being online before the update can give those plants free mutations. Instead, use sprinklers and keep them well-watered for maximum mutation potential. Just make sure to favorite them to avoid losing them in public servers.

7. Abuse the Ostrich Glitch

If you own an Ostrich pet (from Paradise Eggs), use it. Ostriches have a passive ability that increases the age of newly hatched pets—each Ostrich boosts it further. Combine this with the Starfish pet for extra pet XP. Higher pet age helps unlock extra pet slots and can be sold for a good price in Discord servers.

8. Stock Up on Summer Plants

Since the Summer Harvest event will continue, the more summer plants you own, the better. These plants give high event points. Be online during the update launch because the dev (Jandel) often restocks seed shops manually—giving you the chance to buy rare items before others.

The Mega Harvest update will bring a ton of new content in Grow a Garden, but only players who are well-prepared will get the most out of it. By following these 8 steps, you’ll be ahead of the game with money, seeds, pets, and strategies ready to go. Don’t wait until the update hits—prepare now and dominate the garden when the time comes!
