With the new summer update in Grow a Garden, summer coins have become an essential currency. You’ll need them to buy exciting summer seed packs, rare seeds, mutation sprays, new crates, eggs, and even a hamster pet. These items can cost a lot of summer coins, so knowing how to farm them quickly is key. This guide will walk you through the fastest and most effective ways to get summer coins in the game. What Are Summer Coins and How Do You Get Them?

Summer coins are a new currency introduced alongside the summer harvest event. You earn these coins by submitting summer fruits during the event. The more points you collect from your submissions, the more summer coins you receive.

  • For every 1,000 points earned, you get roughly 1 summer coin.
  • The maximum points you can aim for in the event is 14,000 points, which gives you a full set of rewards plus 14 summer coins.

What Counts as Summer Fruits?

Several plants in the game count as summer fruits, including:

  • All summer seeds from the seed shop and harvest shop.
  • Special crafted plants like Peace Lily, Aloe Vera, and Guana Bana.

Each fruit you submit grants points based on its rarity:

  • Common 1 point
  • Uncommon 2 points
  • Rare 3 points
  • Legendary 4 points
  • Mythical 5 points
  • Divine 6 points
  • Prismatic 7 points

Note: Gold or rainbow variants give extra points, but farming for those isn’t worth wasting sprinklers, so focus on the table above.

Step 1: Gather Summer Plants

Start by collecting as many summer plants as you can. Popular choices include:

  • Iguana Bana
  • Lily of the Valley
  • Traveler’s Fruit

These give decent points and are the foundation of your summer coin farming.

Step 2: Use the Tomato Method for Mass Points

The fastest way to rack up points is by using the Tomato Method:

  • Plant lots of tomato seeds — ideally 300 to 400 plants.
  • Each tomato plant produces 3 tomatoes.
  • Tomatoes are a rare plant, giving 3 points per fruit.

So if you have 400 tomato plants, that’s:

  • 400 plants × 3 tomatoes each = 1,200 tomatoes
  • 1,200 tomatoes × 3 points each = 3,600 points from tomatoes alone.

Step 3: Multiply Points with Friends or Alt Accounts

Playing solo limits your points, but if you team up with friends:

  • 3 friends each earning 3,600 points = 10,800 points
  • 4 friends = 14,400 points (maxing the event rewards)

If you don’t have friends, alt accounts can work similarly but are harder to manage.

Step 4: Take Advantage of Mega Harvest Events

Mega Harvest events double your summer harvest points and growth speed. This means:

  • One tomato normally worth 3 points becomes worth 6 points during the event.
  • Use these events to maximize your summer coins quickly.

Step 5: Use Pets That Boost Plant Duplication

Certain pets help increase your plant harvest:

  • Axelotl Pet: Has a 7% chance that harvested plants stay (duplicate), effectively increasing your fruit count.
  • Giant Ant: Has a 10% chance for harvested crops to duplicate but less effective on rare fruits.

The Axelotl is better for farming summer coins because it affects summer fruits directly. You can get the Axelotl from the Oasis Egg in the harvest shop for 10 summer coins.

Submit as many summer fruits as possible to earn points. Use the Tomato Method for mass farming. Team up with friends to multiply your points. Play during Mega Harvest Events to double your rewards. Use the Axelotl pet to increase harvest duplication. Farming summer coins efficiently requires patience and a bit of planning, but with this method, you’ll quickly collect enough coins for all those expensive summer items.
