Charms in DIG are much more than cosmetic gear — they’re core components of your gameplay progression. These items grant permanent buffs, enhance your digging power, and boost your chances of uncovering rare mythical and secret-tier items from underground. Whether you’re just starting out or optimizing your mid-to-late game, understanding how Charms work — and which ones to prioritize — is essential. Below is a full breakdown of what Charms are, how to get them, what they do, and how to equip them effectively. Also check out our Roblox Dig Beginner Guide for those that are new to the game.

What Are Charms in DIG?

Charms are wearable gear pieces that provide stat bonuses and passive abilities to your character. These perks apply while digging, fighting bosses, or exploring the many regions in DIG. You can acquire them through quests, journals, shops, boss drops, and special events. Each Charm has a unique ability and can grant up to three different buffs such as:

  • Control
  • Strength
  • Endurance
  • Luck
  • Jump Power
  • Boss Damage
  • Carry Load
  • Walk Speed
  • Haste

How Many Charms Can You Equip?

Players can equip up to three Charms:

  • First slot: Unlocked by default
  • Second slot: Unlocks at Level 10
  • Third slot: Unlocks at Level 25

Choose your Charms wisely — combining buffs like Control and Strength with abilities like item mutations can significantly impact your efficiency.

How Many Buffs Can a Charm Give?

Each Charm can gives  three buffs, with item’s rarity and type. You can further enhance or reroll these stats using a Charm Chisel, letting you tailor the stats to better suit your build.

Tips on Choosing the Right Charm Build

  • Early Game: Focus on Endurance and Control Charms like the Training Glove or Jar of Jam to improve your item collection success rate.
  • Mid Game: Shift toward Strength and Luck-oriented Charms like Blazing Gauntlet, Fruit Hat, and Lucky Bell.
  • Boss Battles: Use Radioactive Horns, Ninja Headband, and Regen Coil to maximize survivability and damage output.
  • Digging Efficiency: Equip Magic Top Hat, Super Blue Coil, or Rock Pounder to dig more powerful or modified items quickly.

Charms are one of the most flexible and game-changing systems in DIG. Whether you’re trying to pull secret-tier items, farm legendaries faster, or defeat bosses more efficiently, selecting the right Charms — and knowing when to upgrade or combine them — can transform your progression.

Always keep an eye on merchant rotations, questlines, and journal completion — many of the best Charms are locked behind exploration and discovery. Optimize your loadout as you level, and you’ll see a massive improvement in both loot and performance. Want to dig smarter, not harder? Start by stacking the right Charms.
