Check out our Anime Last Stands New Update 61 Guide, and Codes!

What Are Random Trials?

Random Trials is a limited-time game mode in Anime Last Stand, introduced during the Summer Part 2 update. In this mode:

  • You don’t use your own team. Instead, you start with random units, which you can merge to obtain stronger rarities.
  • Each run places you in a random map with different enemy types and layouts.
  • The challenge? Build a winning setup with what you’re given—relying entirely on luck, quick thinking, and good merges.

The ultimate reward? Summer Random Cubes—used for limited skins, units, and other exclusive event items.

How to Beat Random Trials: Step-by-Step Guide

1. Pick the Right Map

First tip: avoid hard maps. Some locations have difficult terrain or short enemy paths that make defending tough. If the map looks unfair, just restart. Seamless Retry (enabled in settings) lets you reset without delay. Choose maps where enemies walk a long winding path—this gives your units time to deal more damage and increases your survival chances early on.

2. Start Merging Immediately

Once you’re in:

  • Place three random units at the start.
  • Begin merging low-rarity units together (e.g., Rare + Rare → Epic, Epic + Epic → Legendary).
  • Try to reach Mythic or Godly rarity as quickly as possible. These units are your key to carrying the run.

Important: If your early units don’t match enemy types (e.g., Fire vs. Water enemies), consider restarting. Mismatched elements make a big difference.

3. Watch Unit Types and Roles

Understanding what you get is crucial:

  • Hybrid Units can hit both ground and air—these are top-priority.
  • Ground-Only Units may struggle if flying enemies show up.
  • High DPS Units like Chainsaw Man, or Sung Jin Woo can carry the game even if your rolls are suboptimal.

If you get Sung Jin Woo (Godly), you’re in luck. His Rebirth ability makes him arguably the strongest unit for this mode right now.

4. Use RNG to Your Advantage

Don’t waste time on bad rolls. Just keep:

  • Rolling and Merging until you hit Mythic or Godly.
  • Stacking DPS with units that counter enemy types (e.g., Fire vs. Nature).
  • Saving key units for later waves—especially when flying or tanky enemies appear.

And yes, you can get Godly units directly from merging—it’s rare, but possible. Just keep trying.

5. There Are No Money Units (Mostly)

One challenge is the lack of money units in this mode. You can’t rely on farming—so you’ll need to:

  • Efficiently place high-value units
  • Focus on hybrid coverage and AOE if possible
  • Rely on raw power, not utility

If you somehow pull units like Bulma, note that unevolved versions don’t grant extra money.

6. Farm Summer Random Cubes

This mode drops Summer Random Cubes, used in the Summer Event Shop.

  • Max cap: 5,000 Cubes
  • You can earn 1,500–2,000+ cubes per full run if you reach high enough waves and play efficiently.
  • Even if you lose early, you’ll still get decent rewards over time.

Use the cubes to grab Summer Bingo Stamps, Technique Shards, or limited-time units.

Best Units to Look For

Some units worth holding or targeting via merge:

  • Mythic Chainsaw Man, Grammy Strong AOE and elemental matchups
  • Godly Sung Jin Woo Rebirth ability, carries hard
  • Godly Frieren (new) Top-tier DPS, hybrid coverage
  • Celestial Fire Sanji, Uliora High burst, good against flying

Keep rolling until you hit one of these, and you’re set for the run.

Random Trials in Anime Last Stand is all about adapting to luck and optimizing your merges. Some runs will feel impossible. Others will gift you a Godly unit right off the bat. The key is to retry quickly, make smart placements, and aim for hybrid DPS that matches the wave type.

Don’t stress over every run—once you get your rhythm, you’ll farm 5,000 cubes in no time. Stay tuned for more guides, especially our upcoming piece on Shiny Frieren and how she performs in this game mode. Until then, good luck rolling those Godlies—and remember, sometimes all it takes is one lucky merge.
