Update 28 for Spongebob Tower Defense has officially dropped, bringing major changes to the game with the introduction of Rogue Mode, new powerful units, exclusive rewards, and more. If you’re level 50 or higher, it’s time to jump in and test your strength in this high-stakes mode that rewards smart strategy and survival skills. Here’s everything you need to know.
Spongebob Tower Defense Update 28 Rogue Update
1. Rogue Mode (BETA) – What You Need to Know
Rogue Mode is a brand-new survival-style game mode available under the Extra tab in the Play Selection menu. Only players Level 50 and above can access it for now. The goal is simple—survive as many waves as you can. But there’s a twist:
- Every 15 waves, you’ll earn a new card.
- Cards offer various advantages such as combat boosts, economic perks, and gameplay-changing strategies.
- These cards can drastically change how each run plays out, making replayability a big part of Rogue Mode.
This mode is currently in beta, and the devs have confirmed more updates will follow soon.
2. Rogue Crates & New Units
One of the major incentives in Rogue Mode is the Rogue Crates. You can earn up to 5 crates per run, each filled with valuable units that can strengthen your deck. Inside these crates, you’ll find 7 brand-new OP units that are exclusive to Update 28. Opening crates and collecting these units is key if you want to stay competitive and experiment with new team builds.
3. Exclusive Mount at Wave 300
Looking for a challenge? If you manage to survive all the way to Wave 300, you’ll unlock a limited-time exclusive mount. This reward is only available through Rogue Mode and adds a visual upgrade to your character that shows off your skills and endurance.

Keep an eye out for additional changes and improvements in the coming weeks as the devs continue to polish Rogue Mode and add more depth. Whether you’re aiming to unlock new units or just test your limits, this update is packed with content worth diving into.
