3 Fastest Way to Farm Pet Mutations in Grow a Garden Guide
The recent Pet Mutation update in Grow a Garden has made farming mutated pets more accessible and exciting. If you’re looking to get your pets mutated quickly, this guide covers the fastest methods to level up your pets to the required level 50 and how to mutate them efficiently.
What Is the Pet Mutation Update?
The update lowered the pet level requirement for mutation from 100 to 50, making it easier and faster to start mutating pets. Mutated pets have special abilities and unique looks, boosting your garden’s progress and your overall gameplay.
Fastest Ways to Level Your Pets to 50
1. Starfish – The Fastest Leveling Pet
If your goal is purely to level up, the starfish is the best choice. It gains XP rapidly and is widely recognized as the fastest leveling pet. However, it’s usually not worth mutating since its usefulness is limited to leveling only.
2. The Capybara Method
Capybaras have an ability that stops pets within a 15.81-stud radius from losing hunger and gives them 4.57 XP per second.
- Place down seven Capybaras near the pet you want to level up to maximize XP gain.
- Make sure the pet you want to level is close to at least one Capybara to gain XP.
- You can get Capybaras mainly from Paradise eggs or by trading.
This method can stack XP gain up to around 35-40 XP per second, making it very efficient.
3. The Dilophosaurus Method
A new and powerful method from the update involves using the Dilophosaurus pet:
- Its ability releases venom every 13 minutes and 31 seconds, boosting XP for itself and 3.82 other random pets.
- If you use seven Dilophosauruses, the XP boost stacks, applying roughly 18,657 XP every 13 minutes to multiple pets, including the one you want to level.
This method provides massive XP boosts and works very well if you can gather several Dilophosauruses.
Bonus: Using Small Treats for XP Boost
You can craft Small Treats at the crafting bench in the cosmetics area:
- Requires 1 Common Egg, 1 Dragon Fruit, 1 Blueberry, and 1 million shekels.
- Grants an XP boost lasting 12 hours (43,200 seconds).
- Only one XP boost can be active at a time per pet.
This boost enhances your pet’s passive XP gain, complementing the other methods.
How to Mutate Your Pets
Once your pet reaches level 50, head over to the Pet Mutation Stand:
- Mutations include shiny, inverted, windy, frozen, golden, tiny, mega, iron skin, radiant, shocked, rainbow, and ascended (0.32% chance, very rare).
- Mutating costs 500 million shekels (down from 1 billion).
- You place the pet in the machine and wait one hour or pay Robux to speed up the process.
- Your pet will receive a random mutation after the process.
Mutations like mega make your pet huge, and rare mutations like ascended are extremely powerful.
So, Keep farming pets to level 50 using Capybaras or Dilophosauruses for the best XP gains. Use small treats to boost XP further if you can craft them. Mutate pets regularly to build a strong, mutated pet collection. Note: After mutation, especially inverted, pets may not level up further easily. With these methods, you’ll be mutating pets faster than ever and boosting your Grow a Garden progress significantly. Happy farming!
