VTuber Mint has recently opened up about her long and behind-the-scenes involvement with VShojo, something fans had no idea about until now. In a heartfelt stream, she explained her journey with the agency, how it began, and what’s been going on behind the scenes.
Mint started the stream by sharing that she doesn’t usually speak publicly about behind-the-scenes matters unless it directly affects her work. She said the recent situation had impacted her enough that she felt the need to clear things up.
According to Mint, she started working with VShojo over a year ago, though not as an official member at first. Around the time she did a podcast with Matara, she was collaborating with them on merch but wasn’t part of the talent roster. Despite the merchandise being sold, Mint mentioned she didn’t receive money from that drop. She didn’t raise concerns at the time since she was hopeful about where things were heading.
The Idol Group Plan
Mint shared that during a trip to Japan with Matara, they discussed her feelings of isolation and her desire to be part of a group. That’s when the idea of an idol group was born. She later pitched this idea to VShojo and officially signed on as a member. Two other talents were later selected to join the group.
Though she’s been part of the agency since then, her group mainly worked with the JP side of VShojo. She described the pace as slow, but she was happy with the people she was collaborating with. Despite some delays, Mint stayed optimistic and believed in the project.
Missed Payments and Delays
She also mentioned she didn’t receive payment for a later merch drop either, but at the time, she didn’t push the issue because she believed in the idol group’s potential. Unfortunately, as things dragged on, delays in the group’s debut began to frustrate her.
Mint also noted that some of the recent public allegations and confessions from other creators like Beri and Pia were not tied to her team directly, as they were part of different plans that were scheduled after her group’s debut.
Even after everything, Mint expressed support for the talents and former staff she worked with. She confirmed she was considered a talent within VShojo for over a year, though not in a public-facing way. She said much of the staff she worked with were unaware of the bigger issues happening behind the scenes until recently.
Despite the uncertainty, Mint confirmed her 3D debut concert is still in the works, thanks to the JP side of the staff. While she doesn’t have anything else to announce for now, she’s hopeful something positive will come from the experience. This quiet but powerful admission from Mint gives fans a clearer look into her role with VShojo and sheds light on the complexities creators face behind the scenes.
