Grow a Garden 10 Things You Need to Do in the Next Corrupted Event Update
The long-awaited Corrupted Zen Garden update is officially on its way to Grow a Garden! and it’s bringing a wave of brand-new content—corrupted seeds, mysterious pets, exclusive gear, and a mysterious celebrity event. If you’re serious about progression (or just want to avoid regret), there are a few important things you need to handle before the update drops. Here are the 10 essential steps to prepare for the Corrupted update, plus a bonus tip that could save your Zen eggs. Also check out our Grow a Garden Codes and Grow a Garden Tier List for more redeemable rewards.
1. Farm sheckles—And Don’t Stop
The new update is almost guaranteed to bring expensive seeds, gear, and store resets. sheckles will be the main currency for most of your purchases, so now is the time to grind.
- Store reset costs double each time: 1M → 2M → 4M → 8M… you’ll hit the trillions fast.
- If the Corrupted event has its own store system (which it likely will), you’ll need a massive stockpile to access everything.
2. Grab Any Dino Eggs You Still Want

The cosmetic shop is rotating, and the dino eggs are on their way out. A timer is already counting down, and once it hits zero, these limited pets may be gone for good.
- This is likely your last chance to collect dino pets like the Huge Primal Spinosaurus.
- If you’re missing any dino cosmetics or companions, secure them now.
3. Get Crafted Plants Before They Rotate Out

Crafted plants are disappearing fast from the crafting station. Only four remain: Horsetail, , Amber Spine, and Grand Volcania.
- If you’re missing any crafted seeds, prioritize them immediately.
- Don’t make the mistake of ignoring rare plants that might not return for a while.
4. Set Up a Discord Notifier
The in-game store updates regularly, and with limited-time seeds, gear, and weather appearing, timing is everything. A Discord store notifier will alert you when:
- Specific seeds or gear drop into the store
- Mutation gear and event items reappear
You’ll get a real-time heads-up to grab what you need before it’s gone.
5. Stockpile Chi Currency
The Chi shop is currently limited, but new corrupted items are likely to be added post-update.
- Save up Chi now while it’s easy to earn.
- Make sure you’re ready to buy future exclusive pets, gear, or shards the moment they arrive.
6. Harvest & Stock Tranquil Fruits

Tranquil fruits are key to leveling the Zen tree—and the new corrupted red tree may follow a similar mechanic. Here’s what to do:
- Loot all tranquil fruits a few hours before the update.
- Let the trees regrow so you can harvest again right after launch.
- Prepare to rapidly level up the new tree if needed.
7. Gather Sprinklers, Toys, and Gear

You’ll need plenty of supplies to handle the new plants and pets coming in the update. Focus on:
- Sprinklers – For faster plant growth.
- Toys and Treats – For leveling and aging pets.
- Watering Gear – For maximizing mutations.
A well-stocked inventory will give you a strong head start.
8. Create an Alt Account for Backup
Running out of space? Want to age pets or run double gardens? An alternate account solves both.
- Store pets and extra gear you’re not using.
- Run side setups to age multiple pets at once or collect gear more efficiently.
- Alts are free and extremely useful in Grow a Garden! events.
9. Clean Out Low-Tier Plants From Your Garden

During major updates, the game drops admin weathers and mutation storms. Clear out weak plants like apples or tomatoes and focus on high-tier ones instead.
- High-value plants have a better chance of gaining rare mutations.
- Don’t let low-tier plants take up precious mutation slots during launch day storms.
10. Log In 90 Minutes Early
Join a private server early—at least 1.5 hours before launch.
- You’ll be ready for any pre-update events or weather effects.
- Early logins reduce your risk of crashing when the servers get overloaded.
- You’ll also catch all admin-triggered mutations and see the celebrity reveal in real time.
There’s growing speculation that the Kitsune pet—currently at a brutal 0.08% drop rate—may get a hatch rate buff. Until then, Don’t hatch your Zen eggs just yet. Hold onto them in case the update makes rare pets easier to get. This could be your best shot at finally scoring that elusive Kitsune without grinding hundreds of eggs.
The Corrupted Zen Garden update promises to be one of the biggest content drops in Grow a Garden! history. With new systems, pets, trees, and an air of mystery surrounding its release, taking the time now to prepare could make all the difference. Whether you’re a new player or a seasoned pro, these steps will give you the head start you need to dominate the update from day one.
