In recent days, players have discovered a lag‑based method to duplicate rare pets—especially Kitsune and Jandel Monkey—in Grow a Garden!. As a result, the developers have temporarily disabled pet gifting to protect the game’s economy. Also check out our Grow a Garden Codes and Grow a Garden Tier List for more redeemable rewards.

This guide breaks down what’s happening, how the glitch works, and what you can do until trading returns. Exploits that duplicate pets flood inventories with illegitimate copies. Once too many duplicates enter circulation, rare pet values crash and honest players lose out. To prevent further damage, the team turned off pet gifting server‑wide while they rebuild the back‑end trading system.

How the Duplication Glitch Works

  1. Multiple Roblox Instances The exploiter runs two accounts on the same computer—using the Roblox Account Manager or similar tools—to trade with themselves.
  2. Mass Tomato Lag One account loads thousands of tomato plants at once. Harvesting 2,000+ tomato branches creates heavy lag.
  3. Initiate the Trade On the “sender” account, start a pet trade. While the trade is processing, the “lag” account collects tomatoes for about 10 seconds.
  4. Join Public Server The sender account immediately hops into any public server and waits for it to finish loading (longer load times signal success).
  5. Trade Completes Twice When both accounts stabilize, each ends up with one copy of the pet—effectively duplicating it.

Because this method relies entirely on server lag, it only works one pet per attempt and requires massive tomato counts to trigger enough packet delay.

Risks & What to Watch For

  • Flagged Pets: If you’ve traded for an unusually easy rare pet lately—especially underpaid deals—it’s likely a duplicate and could be wiped from your inventory.
  • Future Sweeps: Once gifting returns, expect the developers to remove all flagged pets. Holding onto duplicates risks losing them permanently.

Until trading comes back—likely alongside a revamped in‑game trade menu—focus on fair play and growing your garden honestly. That way, when gifting returns, you’ll be ready to trade safely and keep the economy healthy in Grow a Garden.
