Grow a Garden Corrupted Zen Event Guide: Quests, Mutations, and All Rewards
Grow a Garden has just rolled out its Corrupted Zen event, part of the larger Corrupted update. This time, the focus is on finding the right balance between Corruption and Zen by growing special fruits and completing unique quests from two new NPCs: the Corrupt Channeler and the Kitsune. In this guide, we’ll break down how to trigger the Corrupted Aura event, grow the required fruits, and earn limited-time rewards like exclusive pets, crates, and cosmetics. Also check out our Grow a Garden Codes in this game.
What Is the Corrupted Zen Event?
The Corrupted Zen event introduces a new gameplay mechanic where you must grow Corrupt fruits by offering specific fruits to an NPC, while also keeping your Tranquil fruit production steady. This balance system is central to the event, and both types of fruits play an important role in completing quests and unlocking special rewards.
A big part of this event is tied to a rare weather effect called the Corrupted Aura, which occasionally replaces the usual Zen Aura. When this event activates, some of your plants can mutate into Corrupt versions — you’ll spot them by their red glow and electric particle effects.
On the other hand, Tranquil fruits (from the Zen Aura) have a calm mist and floating kanji symbols. Watch for an orb of energy flying from the event hub to your garden — this signals that one of your plants is about to mutate.
How to Use Corrupt and Tranquil Fruits
Once you’ve collected a good number of both fruit types, visit the orange side of the central event hub. There, you’ll interact with two NPCs, each with their own set of tasks and rewards:
1. Corrupt Channeler Quests & Rewards
The Corrupt Channeler, found in the orange circle, gives quests that require specific fruits, often with certain weights or mutations. For example, you might need to submit a Tranquil Bamboo weighing exactly 4kg. Completing these requests gives you random rewards such as:
- Zen Egg – 17.39%
- 10x Chi – 17.39%
- Corrupted Zen Crate – 13.04%
- Corrupt Staff – 8.7%
- Mutation Spray (Tranquil/Corrupt) – 8.7% each
- Tranquil Staff – 8.7%
- Zen Seed Pack – 8.7%
- Corrupted Kodama – 4.35%
- Enkaku – 4.35%
Each submission also powers up a tree behind the NPC, which resets every hour but can boost your chances of growing Corrupt fruits even if the weather event doesn’t happen.
2. Kitsune Quests & Rewards
You’ll find the Kitsune NPC between the orange and green circles in the hub. This character accepts any Corrupt or Tranquil fruits — no need to worry about weight or mutation type. However, you’ll need to maintain balance between the two to unlock all the rewards. Keep an eye on the two side meters to see how you’re doing. Here are the Kitsune’s rewards:
- Maneki-neko – 34.5%
- Dezen – 34.5%
- Kodama – 14.5%
- Lucky Bamboo – 14.5%
- Corrupted Kitsune – 1%
- Tranquil Bloom – 1%
The Corrupted Zen event in Grow a Garden adds a new layer of challenge and reward for players who enjoy strategic gardening and resource collection. By managing both Tranquil and Corrupt fruits and completing quests for both the Corrupt Channeler and Kitsune, you’ll unlock cosmetics, pets, and more before the event ends. Be sure to participate while it’s live, and don’t forget to check out any new codes that may drop for extra items.
