The latest update to Sol’s RNG finally adds one of the community’s most awaited features: Fishing. Whether you’re just getting back into the game or trying it out for the first time, fishing now gives players a brand-new way to collect Auras, aside from the usual rolling and crafting mechanics. This feature also introduces a new in-game currency and items tied to the fishing experience. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to get started.

How to Fish in Sol’s RNG

To start fishing, head toward any ocean edge or coastal area on the map. When you’re close enough, a “Fish” button will pop up. Just press it, and your character will start fishing automatically—no need to equip rods or craft bait.

Once triggered, a small mini-game appears. A reeling bar shows up on your screen, where you must keep the white marker inside the green zone by pressing and holding your Left Mouse Button (LMB). If done correctly, you’ll catch a fish.

How to Catch Rare Fish in Sol’s RNG

Not all fish are equal—some are rarer and heavier than others. To increase your chances of catching rare fish, explore the coastline until you see areas marked as Normal or Hard difficulty zones. These locations offer higher odds of obtaining rare fish types and better rewards. Fishing in these zones improves the weight and rarity of fish, which in turn yields more Fish Tokens upon selling.

All Fish Types in Sol’s RNG

Currently, there are 12 fish types you can collect. You can track your catches in the Fishdex, which stores every species you’ve discovered.

  • Bluetong
  • Emberfin
  • Duskray
  • Flounder
  • Gwrosse (Rarest)
  • Moonfish
  • Rosefin
  • Shrimprite
  • Silverfin
  • Spiraldrift
  • Spinepuff
  • Stonefish

Each fish has different weights and rarities, which affect their selling value.

How to Sell Fish in Sol’s RNG

Once you’ve caught a few fish, head over to Captain Flarg, the fishing NPC located on the southern side of the map. From Jake’s Shop, take a right and go straight to find the Fish Shop. Here, you can open your Fishing Inventory and sell fish in exchange for Fish Tokens. These tokens are exclusive to the fishing system and are used to buy unique items.

What Can You Buy from the Fish Shop?

Captain Flarg doesn’t just buy fish—he also runs a special shop offering rare potions, crafting components, and more. Here’s a full list of purchasable items and their costs in Fish Tokens:
