What Are Classes in Apocrypha?

Classes in Apocrypha define your character’s combat style and skills. They range from weapon-focused fighters to characters with special abilities, like parkour or magic. By choosing a class, you unlock new moves and powers that let you approach battles in different ways. Currently, the game features six classes:

  • Four Weapon Classes, each tied to a specific weapon type
  • Two Skill-Based Classes that focus more on movement and magic

How to Get Classes in Apocrypha

To unlock classes, you’ll mostly be working with the Noir NPC and special Class Artifacts that drop from Lockboxes you can purchase using Arena Vouchers. Here’s a breakdown:

Rogue

  • Learn parkour skills like running, sliding, climbing walls, walking on water, lockpicking, and pickpocketing.
  • Talk to Nero and complete the tutorial dungeon (Sunken Bastille).

Witchcraft

  • Cast magic spells freely without needing a spellbook.
  • Talk to Faelanor in the Captain’s Quarters on the Flying Airship.

Harvester

  • Uses a Scythe with multiple bleed-inflicting slashes and a teleporting ultimate.
  • Obtain the Harvester Artifact from Lockboxes (about 4% drop rate) and train with Noir.

Shinobi

  • Wield a Katana with fast strikes, ranged whirlwind attacks, and a time-stopping ultimate.
  • Get the Shinobi Artifact from Lockboxes (4% drop chance), then train with Noir.

Spellblade

  • Fight with Dual Swords, summon magical blades, and use ranged sword attacks.
  • Acquire the Spellblade Artifact from Lockboxes (4% drop rate) and train with Noir.

Serpent’s Fang

  • Use a Spear with ranged attacks, a stun ability after dodging, and transform into a serpent for invulnerability.
  • Find the Serpent’s Fang Artifact in Lockboxes (3% drop rate) and train with Noir.

Keep in mind: for weapon classes, you also need to buy the corresponding weapon (Scythe, Katana, Dual Swords, Spear) from Beowulf at the back of the Flying Airship. Each weapon costs 10 Lunari.

Class Tier List: Which Ones Are Best?

Some classes stand out because of their power, mobility, or versatility. Here’s a quick look at the top picks in Apocrypha:

  • S-Tier: Serpent Fangs, Spell Blade
  • A-Tier: Shinobi, Rogue
  • B-Tier: Witchcraft, Harvester

These classes perform well in both Arena battles and Battle Royale modes, making them strong choices for most players.

Class Abilities Explained

Here’s a quick rundown of what each class’s signature abilities do:

  • Rogue: Focuses on parkour and movement skills — climb walls, run fast, slide, walk on water, and pick locks or pockets to earn extra rewards.
  • Witchcraft: Allows you to cast spells freely, enhancing combat with magical attacks.
  • Harvester (Scythe): Uses a series of slashes that cause bleeding damage over time; the ultimate lets you teleport and increases your damage.
  • Shinobi (Katana): Combines fast sword strikes with ranged whirlwind and crowd control moves; ultimate freezes time but enemies gain resistance.
  • Spellblade (Dual Swords): Delivers rapid sword combos and summons magic swords for ranged attacks; ultimate boosts speed and damage.
  • Serpent’s Fang (Spear): Mixes melee and ranged spear attacks, including a stun effect after dodging; ultimate transforms you into an invincible serpent.

Choosing and mastering the right class is key to thriving in Apocrypha. Start with the Rogue class early on, then explore weapon classes by hunting for artifacts and upgrading your gear. Among all, Serpent’s Fang and Harvester offer some of the best combat capabilities. Whichever you pick, make sure to train your abilities and adapt your style for the Arena and Battle Royale challenges ahead.
