How to Access the Highway and Enter Layer 1 of Hell

1. Find the Hell NPC (Gate Access)

• Head to the basketball court area in the main map — it’s located directly in front of the trader NPC.
• Across the bridge (depending on your spawn), to the right side of the court, you’ll find a new NPC.
• Important Requirement: You must have one of the following unlocked: Vault Standing Bankai, or Full Resurrection
• If you don’t have these, the NPC will not let you enter the gate.

2. Enter the Highway

• If you meet the requirements, talking to the NPC will teleport you to a new area called The Highway.
• This zone is the entry point to Hell. To proceed, you’ll need to complete the Highway Quest.

How to Complete the Highway Quest (Crystal Collection)

Step 1: Find the Quest Giver

• From the gate spawn point in the Highway, head right through the cave-like structure.
• Look for a glowing NPC (very hard to see in low brightness) — this is the quest giver.
• He’ll task you with collecting 4–5 glowing crystals scattered around the map.

Tip: The cave is small. You’ll memorize the layout quickly. But be careful — a large monster roams the map. It doesn’t chase you, but still unsettling.

Step 2: Collect the Crystals

• Crystals will show up with a UI icon on-screen once nearby.
• Walk around carefully, collect all crystals, and return to the NPC.

Step 3: Find the Quest Giver Again

• After returning the crystals, he disappears and relocates somewhere else in the cave.
• You’ll need to find him again to complete the second part of the quest.
• Once you talk to him again, the UI icon (like the hand prompt) will disappear, and your screen will flash purple.

Entering the First Layer of Hell

Step 1: Locate the Gate to Hell

• From your current location, keep walking through the cave until you see a hole in the ground.
• Drop down and walk forward — you’ll reach a sealed door.
• You cannot enter this gate unless you’ve finished both Highway quest steps.

Step 2: Defeat the Boss

• Upon entering, you’ll face a powerful boss.
• The boss can be cheesed using ranged moves like Kido, but it’s still dangerous.
• Once defeated, you’ll be rewarded with a Book Fragment.

Step 3: Welcome to Hell – Layer 1

• After the boss fight, a cinematic will play.
• You’ll be sent to the First Ring of Hell, where new story and progression begin.
