In Type Soul, unlocking Ancient Vasto form is one of the more difficult but rewarding paths in the game. How to Start the Ancient Vasto Questline
To begin the journey, you’ll need to find the Ancient Vasto NPC, who is hidden deep in Ring 1 of Hell. From one of the spawn points in Ring 1, look for a path leading upwards on a cliffside. You’ll need to scale a series of jumps toward the top.
Eventually, you’ll spot a hidden cave without any markers. Enter it, and inside, you’ll find the Ancient Vasto NPC. Talking to him will start your quest. He’ll mention three husks scattered across Hell that you need to locate. These are required to continue progressing the questline.
All Husk Location Ancient Vasto – Type Soul
First Husk Location – Ring 1
After meeting the Ancient Vasto, your first husk is located somewhere else within Ring 1. From your current location, head back down and explore the surrounding area. Look for a similar hidden corner or cave-like structure. Once you find the first husk and interact with it, the quest will prompt you to locate the next one.
Second Husk Location – The Maze
The second husk is located inside the Maze. It’s not an easy place to navigate, but you don’t need exact coordinates. As you roam the Maze, pay close attention to your surroundings.
Important survival tip: In the Maze, don’t move when the enemy NPC (often a woman with a covered face) is looking at you. Only move when she’s covering her face to avoid damage or being reset.
Eventually, you’ll find the second husk. After interacting, this husk will mention Hogyoku Balls, possibly indicating they are a requirement to complete the transformation or crafting process. These may be tied to the crafting system in the game, though their exact source is still unclear.
Third Husk Location – Library
The final husk is found in the Library. This is by far the easiest one to find. After spawning into the Library, the husk will be directly in front of you. Unlike the others, this one doesn’t give clear instructions, but instead references something about killing him or preparing for the next step.
This husk may be the crafting NPC, and it’s likely related to using the Hogyoku Balls. The details of what comes next aren’t fully known, but this is where your questline will continue once the husks are all located.
