A huge update might be on the way for Grow a Garden, and it could include the return of one of the game’s most iconic seeds — Candy Blossom. While it’s not 100% confirmed, all signs point to the possibility of long-lost seeds and event plants making a comeback, and not just Candy Blossom, but others like Bone Blossom, Queen Bee, and more. So, what’s the catch? You’ll need to take on difficult challenges to earn them.

The Challenge System: What Is It?

Developer Jandel recently shared a TikTok video explaining a potential new feature: a Challenge Mode. Inspired by a suggestion from KreekCraft, this system would allow players to start a fresh run with no access to their current plants or currency.

In this mode, you’d be given a set of tasks — like reaching 1 billion shekels in a week, or getting a specific seed like Elder Strawberry in 24 hours. Completing a challenge would reward you with exclusive items or returning legacy content. Here’s how it might work:

  • You temporarily lose access to your normal inventory
  • Complete a set of objectives in limited time
  • If successful, you unlock rare seeds or pets
  • Once done, your normal progress is restored

The best part? It’s completely optional, so players who aren’t interested can ignore it entirely.

Could Candy Blossom Really Return?

Candy Blossom hasn’t been available in-game for a long time and is considered a collector’s item. But with this new system, there’s a chance it could come back — though it likely won’t be easy.

If it does return, expect a very difficult challenge to unlock it, possibly with only a tiny percentage of players actually completing it. This way, it stays rare and meaningful, but still becomes accessible for those who really want it.

Some fans are excited, especially those who missed previous events. Others are against it, arguing that these seeds should stay exclusive. However, Jandel hasn’t confirmed anything yet, and everything remains speculative for now.

What About Other Old Seeds and Pets?

Besides Candy Blossom, players are hoping to see the return of:

  • Bone Blossom (though unlikely, since it’s one of the best seeds in the game)
  • Moon Melon
  • Elephant Ears
  • Sunflower
  • Rare pets from previous events

Bringing these back through the challenge system could be a great middle ground. Players who missed out before would have a second chance, and devs wouldn’t need to create brand-new seeds every update. Plus, rewards could be rotated and scaled based on difficulty.

The potential return of Candy Blossom — and other rare content — through a new Challenge Mode could be one of the biggest changes in Grow a Garden in a long time. If done right, it can bring life back to the game by offering players something new to work toward, while also giving collectors a second chance.

But it all depends on one thing: the rewards must be worth it. If the challenges are hard and the prizes don’t live up to the grind, players simply won’t bother. On the other hand, if developers balance difficulty with meaningful rewards, this could become one of the most popular systems in the game.

Let us know what you think — should Candy Blossom return through this system, or should it stay exclusive forever? Either way, this is something all players should keep an eye on.
