The Great Outdoors update for Roblox’s horror hit Doors is almost here, and the developers have finally dropped a trailer that’s packed with new environments, mechanics, and mysterious entities. Check out how to Play Doors before its release date!

Scheduled for release on August 10th, this massive content drop opens the gates to an outdoor subfloor teeming with hazards, secrets, and lore hints that have been teased for nearly a year. Below is a breakdown of everything revealed so far — from the new biomes and enemies to hidden gameplay systems you might have missed.

1. The Outdoor Subfloor – First Look

The trailer kicks off with a shot of the courtyard, now covered in thick green vines. The most striking addition is a massive yellow-glowing door with a skeleton key lock, marking the transition into the outdoor subfloor.

The scenery quickly shifts to lush yet dangerous forest areas — complete with falling trees that can crush players, unpredictable weather changes, and lightning storms. These hazards will add a new survival layer to the game’s exploration.

2. The Groundskeeper – New Main Threat

A new entity, known as The Groundskeeper, appears to patrol and protect the courtyard. Their rules are simple: do not step on the lawn. Ignore the warning signs, and they’ll hunt you down with lethal precision, armed with a scythe that can even cut through monstrous vine creatures.

Interestingly, the Groundskeeper wears multiple keys around their torso, which may hint at secret routes or locked areas that could be accessed if players manage to “acquire” them.

3. The Caws – Possible Helpful Entity

Early in the trailer, a group of crows (The Caws) are seen perching calmly before scattering when the Groundskeeper arrives. This suggests they might act as an early warning system, signaling when the Groundskeeper is nearby. Some players speculate that they could also be tied to the mysterious Seek symbols carved into trees.

4. New Hazards and Environmental Details

  • Spiky Vine Monster: A plant creature with thrashing limbs, possibly connected to the massive vine structure glimpsed during a lightning strike.
  • Seek-Inspired Chase: Scenes of falling trees and bark with Seek-like eyes watching from the shadows suggest a high-intensity pursuit event in the outdoors.
  • Bunkers and Cabins: Interiors contain strange paintings, skull masks with tracking eyes, and weather-themed artwork, hinting at deeper lore.

5. Stardust – New Currency

A fresh in-game currency called Stardust will debut with the update. It can be found in chests and is used to:

  • Skip between subfloors like Backdoors or The Rooms (cost: 10 Stardust).
  • Purchase Chromas (color variants) and item skins, including crucifix designs like a lotus leaf theme.

6. Quality-of-Life and Gameplay Additions

  • Save System: Save your progress between floors and subfloors.
  • Animation Upgrades: Includes improved environmental interactions like a new falling bookshelf animation.
  • Rift Door with Skull Lock: Could hide rare loot, possibly a jackpot of Stardust.

7. Free Access Window

From August 10th to August 25th, the Outdoors subfloor will be free to play as many times as you want. After that, you may need Stardust to access it.

The Great Outdoors update is shaping up to be one of the biggest expansions Doors has ever seen. Between the menacing Groundskeeper, mysterious Caws, deadly weather, and the introduction of Stardust, players can expect a mix of survival challenge and hidden lore.

But perhaps the most intriguing element is what the trailer didn’t fully reveal — the possibility of something much larger than the Groundskeeper lurking within the vines. If you’re planning to dive in on release day, be ready to move fast, watch the skies, and for the love of your run… stay off the grass.
