The Outdoors Update in Doors brings several new enemy encounters, and the Eyestalk chase is one of the most intense. If you’ve ever faced Seek in the hotel, you’ll recognize the mechanics — but with a darker, more dangerous twist. Here’s how to get through it without getting caught. How the Eyestalk Chase Works

Doors The Outdoor New Entities

The Eyestalk’s chase functions similarly to Seek’s chase in the original game. Once it begins, you’ll be running through a series of corridors, dodging obstacles, and making split-second decisions on which path to take. However, there are some unique hazards you’ll need to watch for:

  • Snare Traps: These can spawn during the chase, slowing you down if you step on them. Avoid stepping into grassy patches or areas with suspicious floor textures.
  • Darker Lighting: The chase path is noticeably darker than normal, making it harder to spot obstacles. You’ll need to focus closely on the environment to avoid collisions.

Step-by-Step Strategy to Beat the Eyestalk Chase

1. Stay Alert for Snare Spawns

During the run, watch the ground carefully. Snare traps look like spiky plants and will immobilize you for a moment if stepped on — which is usually enough time for the Eyestalk to catch up. Hug the middle of the path and avoid grassy edges where snares often appear.

2. React Quickly to Path Indicators

Just like Seek’s chase, doors and hallways will have a visual cue showing the correct path — usually light spilling through an opening. Keep your camera centered so you can adjust direction instantly.

3. Memorize Common Obstacle Patterns

Expect fallen beams, blocked doorways, and narrow passages. Jump and slide past them smoothly without over-correcting your movement.

4. Use Peripheral Vision in the Dark

The low lighting makes it harder to see, but obstacles still have slightly brighter outlines. Don’t just focus dead ahead — scan side to side to catch hazards early.

5. Keep Sprinting, Don’t Stop

Once the chase starts, momentum is key. Hesitation often leads to mistakes. Even when avoiding traps, keep your speed up.

What Happens After the Chase

When you successfully reach the end, you’ll get a cutscene showing the Groundskeeper splitting the Eyestalk open. This signals the end of the chase, giving you a breather before the next section.

Mastering the Eyestalk chase is all about reaction speed, trap awareness, and path reading. If you’ve beaten Seek before, you already have the basics down — just stay wary of the extra traps and reduced visibility. Once you’re through, you can enjoy the cinematic takedown by the Groundskeeper and move on with your run in Doors.
