6 New Rift Rooms in DOORS: The Outdoors Update Guide

The Outdoors Subfloor Update for DOORS has brought in far more than just the new outdoor areas. This patch also introduced new Rift Rooms, sub-rooms, and modified layouts in both the Hotel and Mines. Also check out how to get skeleton keys in the game.

In total, there are six brand-new Rift Rooms—three in the Hotel and three in the Mines—plus several fresh sub-room designs and changes to existing rooms. This guide covers every new Rift Room, sub-room, and room modification so you know exactly what to look for in your next run.

New Rift Rooms in the Hotel

There are three new Rift Rooms in the Hotel. Each one has its own unique design, and one even contains an exclusive item you can’t find anywhere else.

1. Abandoned Jeff Shop Rift Room

  • Looks like a deserted Jeff Shop with chairs, tables, and a flashlight.
  • Contains a Tip Jar—you can store a Rift inside it to create a Rift Tip Jar, which can be thrown to spawn a Rift anywhere.

2. Door 100 Style Rift Room

  • Shares the same design style as Door 100.
  • Has no special items—mainly useful for Rift usage only.

3. Abandoned Reception/Cafeteria Rift Room

  • Rare spawn location.
  • Contains a Donut—eating it unlocks the “Dough” badge.
  • Outside area resembles an extra entrance to the Hotel lobby.

New Rift Rooms in the Mines

The Mines also received three new Rift Rooms, with some being more common than others.

1. Elevator Rift Room

  • Contains a Rift, a functional-looking elevator, and a water drain below.
  • The elevator can’t actually be used to return to the Hotel.

2. Anchor Rift Room

  • Features a large abandoned Zed Anchor and two Grumble Holes.
  • Rare room, possibly linked to future challenges.

3. Black Water Drain Rift Room

  • Large drain room with black Seek-like goop.
  • Rare spawn that adds visual variety to Mines exploration.

New & Modified Rooms in the Hotel

Alongside Rift Rooms, the Hotel received new room layouts and side rooms, making runs feel more dynamic.

New Main Rooms

  • Two-floor room with four doors—door accessibility changes based on your run.
  • New elevator rooms—non-functional but add to the Hotel’s realism.

New Side Rooms

  • Single-bed rentable room (1,000 knobs) with a toilet.
  • Double-bed rentable room (2,000 knobs) for two players, also with a toilet.
  • Stairway side room—rare, unique design, no loot.

Many standard rooms such as L-shaped, T-shaped, and straight corridors now have extra side rooms with loot crates, increasing gold opportunities. The Outdoors Subfloor entrance was moved from Door 99 to Door 90. However, some players have noticed a second entrance appearing after the Greenhouse section, which might be a glitch or oversight.

The DOORS Outdoors Subfloor Update doesn’t just expand the map—it makes each run feel fresher with new Rift Rooms, loot opportunities, and rare finds. The addition of unique items like the Donut and Tip Jar Rift makes exploration more rewarding, while subtle room changes keep even the Hotel interesting. Whether you’re chasing badges, hunting rare rooms, or just exploring, these updates give plenty of reasons to dive back into DOORS.
