Buddies are the core units in Battle Buddies, and collecting them is one of the most exciting parts of the game. They not only determine your team’s strength but also open up new strategies for tackling tougher maps and bosses. This guide covers every way to obtain Buddies, including map drops, shop purchases, and rare spawn opportunities. Also check out our Battle Buddies Guide, and Battle Buddies Codes.

What Are Buddies in Battle Buddies?

Buddies are units used by both players and enemies. They move along a straight path from their spawn point to the opponent’s base, attacking any enemy within range. To deploy a Buddy, you’ll need Tokens, and each Buddy has a cooldown before they can be summoned again. Their stats—damage, attack speed, health, and walk speed—vary by type.

Some are single-target attackers, while others can hit multiple enemies or fight from range. Certain Buddies even have passive skills, such as Red Bear’s Sneak ability. Buddies can also equip skins to change their look, and bosses at the end of maps are often stronger versions of existing Buddies, like the Frog King in Timberland Woods.

How to Obtain Buddies

1. Defeating Them in Maps

Each time you beat an enemy Buddy, there’s a small chance it will be recruited into your team. If you already own it, you’ll receive 5 Tickets instead. The chance of recruiting at least one Buddy increases the more enemies you defeat:

  • 10 enemies: up to 22.4% on Normal, 26.5% on Hard, 32.4% on Corrupt
  • 50 enemies: up to 71.8% on Normal, 78.5% on Hard, 85.9% on Corrupt
  • 75 enemies: up to 85.0% on Normal, 90.1% on Hard, 94.7% on Corrupt

2. Buying Them from the Buddy Shop

Certain Buddies can be bought directly without needing to grind maps.
