Jackalope in Grow a Garden – Passive Ability, How to Get & Details

The Jackalope is a unique pet introduced in the Beanstalk Event Update of Grow a Garden. Inspired by the legendary creature from folklore, this pet combines a rabbit’s appearance with antelope-like horns.

While it is not obtainable outside of the event, its mutation-based ability makes it a highly valuable companion for players seeking rare crop variations. Released on August 16, 2025, the Jackalope is part of the Beanstalk Event lineup.

Classified as an event pet, it cannot be obtained permanently once the event ends. Its main strength lies in its passive ability, which introduces a new way to mutate fruits into special variations.

Trait – Fruit Mutation Ability

The Jackalope comes with one of the most interesting passives in Grow a Garden:

  • Mutation Trigger: Every 100 seconds, the Jackalope stomps its feet.
  • Mutation Chance: Around 15% chance to mutate a nearby fruit.
  • Effect: The mutation applies the Sandy mutation to the affected fruit.

This makes the Jackalope ideal for players aiming to farm special fruit mutations without relying only on natural RNG.

How to Get the Jackalope

The Jackalope can be hatched from the Sprout Egg during the Beanstalk Event. Its hatch rate is lower than common pets, making it more difficult to obtain:

  • Hatch Chance: 31%

Since it’s only available during the Beanstalk Event, players should try to obtain it before the event ends.

The Jackalope is more than just a stylish mythical creature—it’s a practical farming companion. With its ability to occasionally mutate fruits into the Sandy mutation, it brings a unique mechanic that can help players expand their crop variety in Grow a Garden. While its 31% hatch chance from the Sprout Egg means you may need a few tries, the payoff is worth it if you’re aiming for rare fruits during the Beanstalk Event.
