Archived Beginner Guide, Tips, Tricks and How to Play the Games!

Roblox Archived is a Project Moon–inspired game that combines challenging combat, syndicate choices, and deep progression. It’s not the type of game where you can jump in and instantly master everything—you’ll need to grind, take exams, and learn the systems to survive. If you’re just starting out and unsure where to begin, this guide breaks everything down step by step so you can make the most out of your journey as a fixer. Check out our How to Get EGO Guide in Archived!

1. Starting Out

When you first boot up the game, you’ll see a slot selection screen. Pick your slot, create a name, and choose your syndicate or association. If you’re not sure where to start, the Liu Association is a solid beginner choice. Your character’s appearance can also be customized here, so take a moment to set it up before heading in.

You’ll spawn at the train station. Speak to the NPC near the entrance and select the option to become a fixer. Once that’s done, head to Sentenza, the main hub for quests and contracts.

2. Basic Controls

The game has a unique combat system, so getting familiar with controls early is essential:

  • M1 (Left Click): Basic attack
  • Right Click: Parry
  • F (Hold): Block
  • Double Tap W: Run
  • Jump + M1: Dive attack

Mastering parries and dive attacks will help a lot in early battles, especially against grunts and mobs.

3. First Quests

Your first tasks are given in Sentenza. Talk to the NPC, choose the first option, and you’ll be sent to defeat a group of grunts. A red chain will guide you to their location. Once there, you’ll encounter enemies and sometimes a mob boss. If you’re new, it’s safer to avoid long fights—complete the contract, retreat, and report back for rewards.

4. Exams and Ranking Up

Progression in Archived isn’t just about quests—it’s also about fixer grades. After your first contracts, you’ll be sent to take the Grade Nine Exam at the HANA Association office. This exam is a quiz with randomized questions, but most answers can be found in the Trello if you want to prepare. Passing the exam promotes you to Grade Eight, unlocking more quests and weapon options.

5. Weapons, Books, and Progression

Defeating enemies often rewards you with books. Using these books can unlock weapons such as the Liuke Guano if you’re in the Liu Association. Weapons are locked behind grade requirements, meaning they won’t reach full potential until you rank up. Equip your weapons by pressing E, and keep grinding contracts for better drops.

6. Stats and Affinities

Archived features a stat system called Sin Affinity, similar to builds in other RPGs. The main categories are:

  • Wrath: Burn damage and higher DPS
  • Desire: Bleed and light recovery
  • Sloth: Tremor and tankiness
  • GLiuttony: Rupture and raw damage
  • Gloom: Sinking effects
  • Pride: Poise-based builds
  • Envy: Charge builds

If you’re new and don’t have a build in mind, Wrath or Desire are strong starter picks. Wrath in particular synergizes well with Liu Association builds, unlocking powerful abilities after 30 points.

7. Understanding the UI

  • Top Left (Door Icon): Servers. Red servers are “Night in the Back Streets” worlds with permanent death but better rewards.
  • Bag/Inventory (Tab): Manage weapons, items, and drops.
  • Fixer’s Journal: Tracks enemies, weapons, and discoveries.
  • Outfits: Cosmetic appearance and passive effects.
  • Resistances: Numbers indicate how resistant or weak you are to certain damage types.
  • On/Gold: Your money, used for various in-game needs.
  • Settings: Adjust hitboxes, graphics, and controls for smoother gameplay.

8. Library Invitations

Eventually, you’ll obtain Library Invitations from enemies. These allow you to challenge tougher battles, either solo or with friends. Standing in the glowing circle will teleport your entire party into the library. Here you’ll meet Angela and be able to challenge ordeals like the Floor of Language or Floor of General Works.

These challenges are best attempted at Grade Seven or higher, and they’re easier with friends. Be careful—death in the library means permanent character wipe.

Archived is a deep, grind-heavy game that rewards patience and smart play. From creating your character to passing exams, collecting weapons, and experimenting with builds, every step of progression adds more depth.

Start with the Liu Association if you’re unsure, invest in Wrath or Desire early, and use your books and invitations wisely. Whether you’re taking contracts, ranking up, or braving the dangers of the library, every decision shapes your journey as a fixer. Stick with it, and you’ll unlock the full potential that Roblox Archived has to offer.
