How To Reset & Change Your Skills Archived Roblox
In Archived Roblox, managing your skills is very important since you can only equip up to five at a time. Once you unlock more abilities, you’ll eventually need to reset and change them to build the best setup for combat or exploration. This guide will walk you through how resetting works, the NPC involved, and what to watch out for when swapping skills. Check out our Roblox Archived Guide for new players!
NPC Location – John Archive

The NPC you need is called John Archive. He used to handle skill resets and could be found outside of Everything Workshop. John Archive gave players two key options through dialogue:
- “I want to Forget” – Removes all of your currently equipped pages (skills).
- “I want to Remember” – Opens a menu where you can reselect from all the pages you’ve learned before.
When you picked either option, John would smash a bottle over your head, dealing damage, applying 6 Bleed stacks, and combat-tagging you. Despite the damage, this system allowed full flexibility to swap between any abilities you’ve collected.
How the Reset Worked
- Talk to John Archive near Everything Workshop.
- Choose “I want to Forget” to unequip all five of your current pages.
- Select “I want to Remember” to pick and equip different skills from your unlocked pool.
- Handle the Bleed stacks by attacking the air (M1), taking some damage, or waiting for regeneration.
This process could be repeated infinitely with no permanent cost, other than managing the Bleed effect each time.
John Archive was eventually removed from his role after the introduction of Bookshelves, which replaced his function. Now, instead of talking to him, players must use Bookshelves to forget and remember skills. Resetting and swapping skills in Archived Roblox gave players the freedom to experiment with different builds and playstyles.
While John Archive is no longer the one handling resets, knowing how his system worked is still useful background for understanding how skill management evolved in the game. Today, with the introduction of Bookshelves, the process remains just as flexible, ensuring you can always adapt your skills to fit new challenges.
