Grow a Garden’s Admin Abuse War and Beanstalk Part 2 add a wave of new mutations and mutation sources that change how gardens behave. This guide sums up every new mutation and the pets/actions that trigger them, plus practical tips for using — or avoiding — each mutation in your setup.
The update introduces several mutations (Plasma, Brainrot, Warped, Rot, Cyclonic, plus event-specific mechanics like replant/duplication and the Giantbean pet mutation).
Many come from new event pets (Peach Wasp, Lemon Lion, Apple Gazelle, Mandrake, Griffin, Green Bean, Elk) or from harvesting specific crops. All listed pets and mechanics become obtainable with the Part 2 update (August 23), and some are tied to the Admin Abuse War event rewards.
1. Plasma (Plasmafies)
This mutation comes from the Peach Wasp through its Peach Pollinator ability. When the wasp flies to a nearby fruit, it has the chance to apply the Plasmafies mutation. Fruits affected by Plasma take on a glowing energy-like state, making them unique and more powerful compared to normal fruits.
2. Brainrot
The Lemon Lion is responsible for the Brainrot mutation through its Brain-Roar skill. When activated, this ability mutates a random fruit with Brainrot. These fruits tend to appear corrupted or twisted, and they carry a darker theme that sets them apart from normal growths.
3. Warped
Warped mutation is linked to the Apple Gazelle’s Sugar Warp. When harvesting Sugar Apple crops, there’s a 2–4% chance for the effect to apply Warped to a random fruit. Warped fruits usually gain distorted appearances and stand out due to their unusual, bent shape and glowing patterns.
4. Rot
The Mandrake crop introduces the Rot mutation. Whenever you harvest Mandrake, there’s a 3% chance that a random fruit will gain the Rot effect. These fruits look decayed and weakened, with textures that resemble dying or spoiled plants, reflecting their corrupted nature.
5. Cyclonic
Cyclonic mutation comes from the Griffin’s Cyclone ability. When a fruit is struck by the cyclone, it has a 10% chance to mutate into Cyclonic. These fruits take on swirling, storm-like visuals, giving them a rare and powerful aesthetic compared to ordinary crops.
6. Giantbean Pet Mutation
The Giantbean Pet Shard is a new gear item that applies the Giantbean Pet Mutation. By crafting the shard and using it, players can trigger this special mutation, although its exact visual appearance is not yet known. Still, the Giantbean mutation is considered rare and is directly tied to the Beanstalk Pt.2 event progression.
The Admin Abuse War and Beanstalk Part 2 introduce mutation mechanics that tilt gameplay toward complex garden synergies: mutation spread, duplication, replanting, and instant growth.
Mix and match pets to build either high-yield farms (Apple Gazelle + Elk) or mutation-heavy setups (Peach Wasp + Griffin + Mandrake), but always test new combos on a small scale first.
With the August 23 update, these pets and mutations will be playable — plan your strategy and pick pets that match your long-term garden goals in Grow a Garden!
