The highly anticipated Lightning Update has officially arrived in Blox Fruits, and it brings some of the biggest changes we’ve seen in a while. From the Lightning Fruit rework to an all-new fishing system, crafting and potions, and the limited-time Summer Gacha, there’s a ton of new content to dive into. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the update so you don’t miss a thing.

Lightning Fruit Rework – Full Showcase

The Lightning Fruit has been completely reworked with a new orb-based system. Orbs are the core mechanic, charging passively or by landing hits, and powering all your abilities. Here’s a breakdown of the moveset:

• X Ability – Storm Clouds
  Creates storm clouds that linger and synergize with your orb attacks for extended combos.
• C Ability – Enhanced Lightning Blast
  A revamped version of the old move with better visuals, range, and massive impact.
• V Ability – Charged Explosion
  Uses up to 4 orbs for a huge explosion. The more orbs, the bigger and stronger it gets.
• F Ability – Teleport Dash
  Teleports you instantly. With extra orb charge, it chains enemies for bonus damage.

Z Ability (3 Variants)

• Z1: Quick projectile (1 orb) that explodes on contact. Great for pressure and poking.
• Z2: Pulls enemies in and briefly stuns them (1 orb). Perfect for combos.
• Z3: Electrified dragon attack (2 orbs). Can turn into a grab combo at close range.

Bonus Synergy: Orbs can be absorbed into lightning clouds to extend combos, and the Z3 Dragon gains extra power when interacting with clouds. This makes the fruit extremely strong for PvP mixups, mobility, and nonstop pressure.

New Island – Submerged Island

A brand-new island has been added to explore. While not much has been revealed yet, it’s tied closely to the fishing system and new crafting recipes. Expect tougher enemies and unique materials here.

Fishing System Explained

Fishing is one of the biggest features added in this update. Here’s how it works:

1. Get a Rod – Talk to the Fisherman NPC to receive your first rod and bait.
2. Cast & Catch – Throw your rod into the water, wait for a bite, and react quickly to secure the fish.
3. Reel In – Keep the fish icon inside the bar during the mini-game to catch it.

Fishing Upgrades

• Casting Power – Improves with perfect casts.
• Bait Effectiveness – Increases as you craft bait.
• Lure Skill – Levels up based on how well you track fish in the mini-game.
• Fishing Level – Grows with every catch, with rare fish boosting levels faster.

Fishing also rewards EXP, treasure chests, rare fruits, and even exclusive recipes.

Angler NPCs can now be found in every sea, offering quests that unlock stronger rods, special baits, and other fishing gear.

Crafting & Potions

Another major feature is the new crafting system, allowing you to cook food and brew potions using materials. To start, build a campfire with wooden planks and open the crafting menu.

Examples of Potions and Food:

• Fish Kebab – Gradual HP regen (outside PvP).
• Lava Potion – Grants lava immunity.
• Aggro Elixir – Forces enemies to target you.
• Loot Seeker – Reveals nearby chests.
• Berserk Elixir – Boosts damage against enemies and bosses.
• Fortune Elixir – Increases money earned.

This system adds a new layer of strategy for grinding, boss fights, and exploration.

Lightning Event

The new Lightning Event triggers hourly. Storm clouds appear over enemies, charging them with electricity. These buffed enemies drop Summer Tokens, which you can trade at the Summer Gacha Dealer.

• More tokens drop in higher seas (C3 gives the best rewards).
• Tokens are used to spin for exclusive fruits, cosmetics, and limited-time fruit skins.

Note: The Summer Gacha shares the same cooldown as the regular Gacha.

Other Key Changes

• Level Cap Increased – More grinding and progression ahead.
• New Materials & Recipes – Dropped across seas for crafting.
• Dragon Stage NPC – Randomly spawns in C1 and C2, similar to the Aura Dealer.
• Fishing Buffs – Rods can now be enhanced with scrolls, including cursed fishing buffs.
