The latest update in Type Soul introduces a faster way to unlock True Mode along with a brand-new weapon, the Hellspiercer. Normally, players would need to wait dozens of hours just to unlock True Mode, but with new quests and methods, you can now achieve it in 5–10 hours if done efficiently. This guide will walk you through the full process, step by step, including the best way to obtain Hellspiercer.

Step 1: Starting the Questline

  1. Head to Karakura Town and locate the NPC QAS J Ward.
  2. Interact with him, and you’ll gain access to the Hell Highway.
  3. Inside the highway, look for a Black Scorpion NPC. He’ll ask you to find four crystals scattered around the map. This part only takes a few minutes.
  4. After returning to him, he’ll disappear and you’ll need to find him again before the gate to the next area opens.

Step 2: Entering Ring One

  • Once the gate is open, climb the stairs to face the Highway Boss.
  • Defeat him to unlock Ring One. It’s recommended to bring your mode for safety during the fight.

Now you have two options:

  • 40 Raids (takes 30–40 hours, not recommended).
  • Kill 120 Lava NPCs (much faster and preferred).

After completing this requirement, press comma ( , ) and talk to Tiger Suz. He will guide you to the next NPC, One (a Quincy).

Step 3: Clearing Ring Two

This stage requires teamwork.

  • Have a friend with the Speed skill tree and the Spectre Step skill.
  • Your friend must be in a different party. During your boss dialogue, your friend uses Spectre Step on you. This allows him to fight the boss undetected while you stay safe.
  • Defeat the bosses in Ring Two using this method. Each boss gets progressively stronger, but the exploit ensures victory.
  • At the end of Ring Two, you can also unlock your True Shikai. Be careful navigating paths here since falling will force you to redo progress.

Step 4: Ring Three & The Maze

  • Follow the path to the third Quincy boss.
  • Use the same Spectre Step method to win the fight.
  • After the battle, a portal will open, leading to a maze.

Maze tip: Always take the left path. This shortens completion time to around 2 minutes instead of 20.

At the end, you’ll reach the Library, where you must interact with a book and input the required dialogue correctly.

Step 5: Unlocking True Mode

Once finished, you’ll return to Ring One, where the AFK timer for True Mode normally takes 5–25 hours. But with the update, you can now speed this up:

  • Injured Shinigami NPC Quests: Located in Ring One. Completing tasks (like killing a few NPCs) reduces your AFK timer.
  • Morpheus NPC Quests: Found with the comma menu in Ring One. Completing his tasks, such as killing Bankai Shinigami NPCs, greatly reduces the timer.

By consistently farming quests, you can unlock True Mode in just 5–10 hours.

How to Obtain Hellspiercer

The update also adds the Hellspiercer, a powerful new weapon.

  • It can be crafted in the Library using special event items.
  • These items drop during the Lava Rain Event, where lava orbs fall from the sky every 30 minutes.
  • Collect enough event items, and you’ll be able to forge Hellspiercer.

This update is one of the most impactful in Type Soul so far. By introducing quests that shorten AFK time, True Mode is now realistically obtainable within 5–10 hours instead of days. On top of that, the Hellspiercer weapon adds another layer of reward for active players participating in the new events.

If you want True Mode fast, focus on NPC quests in Ring One and team up with friends for the harder bosses. For Hellspiercer, keep an eye out for the Lava Rain Event and farm as many orbs as possible.
