The next big update for Grow a Garden is shaping up to be one of the most feature-packed yet. Leaks are already pointing to a full fairy-themed event, brand-new pets, seeds, shop systems, and even a rebirth mechanic that could change the game’s economy for good. Below is a breakdown of everything revealed so far. Also check out our Grow a Garden Codes and Animals Tier List for more rewards!
The Fairy Event – How It Works
The fairy event looks like it will function similarly to previous limited events, such as the Dino Event. Every hour, the fairy event activates, giving players the chance to obtain glimmering mutations on their fruits.
- Mutated fruits can be submitted to the fairy fountain, unlocking fairy quests.
- Completing quests fills up a progress bar, with five stages total, leading to increasingly valuable rewards.
- Each quest completion also lets you make a wish, where you choose one of three possible rewards (examples leaked include fairy points, a glimmering radar, or a fairy targeter).
Like past events, quests will be tied to a 12-hour reset timer, ensuring progress remains time-gated.
Fairy Rewards & Upgrades
Players can spend their fairy event progress to unlock:
- Fairy Points – a new currency, expected to be used in a special event shop.
- Glimmering Radar – works like other radars, auto-collecting mutated fruits.
- Fairy Targeter – boosts the mutation chances by guiding fairies to plants.
- Sparkle Seed Pack & Sparkle Crate – new cosmetics and themed seeds tied to the event.
Additionally, you can upgrade fairy event qualities through the central fairy NPC:
- Fairy Quality (better targeting rare plants)
- Event Duration (longer fairy windows for more mutations)
- Fairy Spawn Rate (increased chances for mutations).
New Pets – Pixie & Sprite
Two major pets have been leaked so far:
- Pixie – Spreads pixie dust every few minutes, boosting plant growth within its radius and even making nearby players levitate.
- Sprite – Every 12 minutes, it flies to a fruit and applies a glimmering mutation automatically.
Neither pet is divine-tier, meaning stronger pets are still likely to arrive later in the update.
Rebirth System
A huge addition coming with this update is the rebirth mechanic. Players will be able to reset their shekels after reaching a set milestone, receiving unique rewards in return. These could include:
- Rare pets or shards
- Exclusive blossoms
- New fertilizers (Rainbow & Golden have been teased)
Rebirthing is expected to become a core part of the game’s progression loop, encouraging players to restart while keeping their rare pets and seeds.
Garden Coins & Merchant
Another game-changing feature is the Garden Coin Merchant. Using Garden Coins, players will be able to purchase:
- Additional pet, plant, and cosmetic inventory space
- Garden slot expansions
- Other special upgrades
Garden Coins themselves may be very costly (leaks suggest prices starting at 1 QA shekels), making them endgame content.
The fairy update isn’t just about cosmetics and pets – it’s about fixing Grow a Garden’s economy and progression systems. With rebirths, a new currency shop, and event quests that tie directly into rewards, this update could refresh the game loop for both new and veteran players.
Between the Pixie and Sprite pets, fairy quests, rebirths, and the Garden Coin Merchant, Grow a Garden is about to see one of its biggest shake-ups yet.
While the economy issues remain a point of concern, the upcoming fairy event looks packed with content and rewards worth grinding for. Stay tuned for more leaks as the update approaches, including final pet abilities, seed packs, and shop items.
