Acecraft: Skyhero is a shoot ‘em up game with roguelike mechanics and unique rubber hose-style graphics, similar to Survivor.io but with faster-paced battles. Also check out our Acecraft Codes and Acecraft Tier list!
For new players, it might look simple at first, but the game has plenty of mechanics that can be confusing without guidance. This beginner’s guide will walk you through the basics of combat, pilots, upgrades, and tips to get you started.
1. Combat Basics
In Acecraft, you control a plane that moves around the screen to dodge enemy projectiles while shooting them down. Defeating enemies advances you to the next wave.
One key mechanic is the pink bullets fired by enemies. If you release your movement control, your plane will absorb these bullets to charge your special skill. However, if you don’t absorb them, they will still damage you.
Enemies that slip past you at the bottom of the screen aren’t gone—they can respawn from below. The same goes for projectiles, so don’t assume you’re safe if something leaves your view.
2. Pilots and Attachments
Each pilot starts with two main attachments (weapons). As you progress, you’ll unlock extra attachments and revives. The game uses an EVO system: if you max out an attachment and pair it with the right plugin, it evolves into a stronger version. General tips:
- Focus on upgrading your main weapon first since it does most of the damage.
- Healing skills on level-up are very useful early on.
- Match your plugins with your main attachments for the best EVO combos.
3. Pilot Roster
Currently, there are 10 pilots: 4 S-grade and 6 A-grade. Each pilot can equip two wingmen, which provide additional effects. Some wingmen have elemental affinities (yellow, red, green, blue). Pairing wingmen with pilots of the same element gives bonus stats.
For starters, Tom is strong with straightforward damage, while Jerry has one of the best ultimates in the game, launching homing fruit projectiles. Ideally, you should unlock both, but if you have to pick, many players prefer Tom for consistent damage.
4. Gear and Upgrades
All early gear has the same stats, but things change once you reach Epic rarity and beyond. To craft Legendary gear, you’ll need eight Epics of the same type. Upgrade priorities:
- Always prioritize Attack > HP > Defense.
- Remember that you upgrade slots, not the gear itself. This means any gear you equip will match the slot’s level.
5. Extra Game Modes
Besides the main story chapters, Acecraft offers several side modes:
- Realm Trial: daily challenges including boss rush.
- Element Trial: unlocked after Chapter 4-9, focusing on elemental bosses.
- Tempest Trek: endless waves for farming coins.
- Nemesis Return: a ranking mode where you test how much damage you can do to a boss.
- Mini-Games & Events: such as fishing, collectible cards, and seasonal events with rewards.
6. Beginner Tips to Follow
- Focus on unlocking S-grade pilots before investing heavily in wingmen.
- Redeem gift codes in the settings menu for free rewards.
- Prioritize attack upgrades first, then HP, and defense last.
- Don’t chase heart icons during battles—they aren’t heals.
- Complete daily missions, login bonuses, and event tasks for extra resources.
Acecraft: Skyhero blends roguelike progression, strategic upgrades, and retro cartoon-style visuals into a fun and challenging experience. As a beginner, focus on learning how pilots, attachments, and EVO mechanics work.
Take your time building your roster, and don’t stress about spending money or rushing through chapters. With the right strategy, you’ll be ready to take on tougher stages and bosses in no time.
