The wait for Anime Vanguards Update 8.5 is almost over, and with events starting earlier than expected, the update could be dropping sooner than players originally thought. To make sure you don’t miss out on limited-time rewards and powerful units, here are the key things you need to do in Update 8 before 8.5 goes live. Check out our Anime Vanguards Codes & Anime Vanguards Tier List.
1. Take Advantage of Flourishing Flowers
The Flourishing Flowers event went live earlier than planned and is only running for about 4–5 days. This event is important because it lets you farm Kaguya much faster than usual. Normally, it takes around 80–100 hours to unlock Kaguya through pity, but with this boost, you can get him in as little as 2 days if you’re farming portals efficiently.
Kaguya is one of the strongest units in the game, and once he leaves the banner in Update 8.5, he’ll only be obtainable through trading. Make sure you secure him now—or even go for a shiny version for extra value.
2. Claim Rerolls and Slime King
If you haven’t already, don’t forget to grab your 200 rerolls from the Spring Shop. Many returning players overlook this reward. This is also the place to pick up Slime King, one of the best free-to-play units in Anime Vanguards.
3. Clear World Lines for Jin Mori
Jin Mori is another powerful unit that will disappear once Update 8.5 drops. He’s available through World Lines, but once the event ends, he’ll only be tradable. Jin Mori is highly valued thanks to his strength as an MVP stealer and overall utility.
If you haven’t cleared World Lines yet, now’s the time. Units like Sun Jin-Wu, Esenor, or Monarch can help you solo most stages, making it easier to secure Jin Mori before he’s gone.
4. Prepare for the Shining Sun Event
The Shining Sun event is coming soon and will double the summer currency you can earn. This matters because future updates will likely remove Escanor around Update 9.5. Farming now ensures you have enough copies for yourself and extras for trading. At minimum, aim for two copies: one to keep and one to trade.
5. Hunt for Vegeta Before the Next Vanguard
While there’s debate about who the next Vanguard will be, there are strong hints that Vegeta Evo is on the way. If you have spare gems, shiny hunting Vegeta—or at least obtaining and evolving him—will prepare you for future content. Even if Broly ends up being the focus, having Vegeta ready is a smart move.
Update 8.5 is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet, and the early start of events suggests the release is closer than expected. By farming Kaguya, clearing World Lines for Jin Mori, stocking up on rerolls, and preparing for Shining Sun, you’ll be ahead of the curve. Don’t wait until the update drops—start grinding now and secure the units and resources you’ll need for what’s coming next.
