The latest Update in Grow a Garden has completely changed how the Ascension System works, making it much easier and more rewarding for players. If you’ve been hesitant about ascending before, now might be the perfect time to give it a try. Here’s everything you need to know.  Check out How to Get Animals & Pets in Grow a Garden!

Ascension No Longer Resets Everything

In the old system, ascending meant you had to lose all your sheckles, which made it a painful choice for many players. That’s no longer the case.

With the reworked system, you only need 1T sheckles to ascend, and you won’t be forced to reset your entire progress anymore. This makes the process far more accessible and less punishing.

Along with the ascension change, the update also improves how mutations and plants work. Mutations are easier to obtain now, and plants don’t feel like such a grind to upgrade.

Combined with the lighter ascension requirements, this change should make progression much smoother for both new and veteran players.

Rewards for Early Ascenders

For those who pushed through the much harder old ascension system, the developers have confirmed that special rewards will be distributed this weekend. This is a nice way to compensate players who spent significantly more effort when ascending was still tough.

Should You Ascend Now?

Yes—if you’ve been waiting, this is the best time. With the cost capped at 1T sheckles and no complete reset, you’ll be able to grab Garden Coins without the heavy downside. Since mutations and plants are now easier, you’ll also progress much faster after your first ascension.

The reworked ascension system in Grow a Garden is a massive quality-of-life improvement. By removing the harsh penalty of losing all sheckles, and by making plant mutations more accessible, the Update ensures a smoother and more fun grind for everyone. If you’ve been holding back, now is the time to ascend and start stacking up those Garden Coins.
