How to Get Infernal Sword in 99 Nights in the Forest – Is It Worth Using?
With so many weapons available in 99 Nights in the Forest, it can be tricky to decide which ones are worth grinding for. One of the latest additions is the Infernal Sword, a flame-based melee weapon. But is it really good, or just another situational tool? Let’s go over what it does, how strong it is, and how you can unlock it.
What Is the Infernal Sword?
The Infernal Sword is the second fire-themed weapon in the game, joining the Flamethrower. Unlike ranged weapons, it’s purely melee-based, meaning you’ll have to get close to enemies to land hits. While this limits its usefulness compared to long-range options like the Ray Gun, it does come with a unique bonus effect.
Is the Infernal Sword Any Good?
The Infernal Sword isn’t the strongest weapon overall, but it does shine in certain situations. Here’s what makes it stand out:
- Fire Effect on Hit – Every strike sets enemies on fire, dealing extra damage over time. This makes it a great choice for aggressive close-range combat.
- Great for Hunting – When used against animals like Bears, Wolves, and Bunnies, the meat they drop will already be cooked. This saves you from needing to carry food back to a campfire or crockpot.
That said, it’s not always the most practical weapon. Because it’s melee-based, you need to fight up close, which can put you at risk. In tougher battles, ranged weapons usually provide more safety and consistent damage.
How to Get the Infernal Sword
To unlock the Infernal Sword, you’ll need to complete a special event inside the Volcano Biome. Here’s the process:
- Find the Volcano – Head into the Volcano Biome until you reach a platform with a sign that reads “The Volcano is Hungry.”
- Sacrifice Cultists – Stand on the edge of the platform, hold out your sack, and drop Cultists into the Volcano.
- Collect Your Reward – After the sacrifice, walk to the altar behind the platform. The reward, including the chance to obtain the Infernal Sword, will appear in the center.
Currently, this is tied to a limited-time event. Once the event ends, the Infernal Sword may still drop, but only as a random reward.
The Infernal Sword in 99 Nights in the Forest is a fun weapon that’s especially useful for farming cooked meat and burning down enemies with damage-over-time effects. However, its melee-only range limits its overall potential compared to safer ranged options. If you enjoy close combat or want a fire-themed weapon for your collection, it’s worth grabbing while the event is active.
