The latest Advanced Server update in Mobile Legends doesn’t just bring hero reworks but also introduces big adjustments to several defense items. These changes significantly impact how tanks and fighters build their gear in matches, especially when facing teams with specific damage types.
1. Dominance Ice & Black Ice Shield
Previously, these items were known for reducing enemy attack speed. After the update, that effect has been removed. Instead, Dominance Ice and Black Ice Shield now provide both physical and magic defense.
They also come with a new passive called Frost Shield, which boosts your defense whenever enemies are nearby. The more enemies surrounding you, the stronger your defenses become. This makes them flexible picks, especially against teams with mixed damage sources.
2. Twilight Armor
The attack speed reduction effect has been shifted over to Twilight Armor, making it the go-to counter against heroes who rely on fast basic attacks, such as Marksmen or Assassins.
While its old passive that reduced incoming damage has been removed, Twilight Armor now has a clearer role. If the enemy team has a core hero with high attack speed, this item becomes a must-buy.
3. Guardian Helmet
Guardian Helmet has also undergone a big change. It now comes with an excess damage reduction effect, helping you survive burst combos or one-shot damage.
However, its HP regen during combat has been removed. That means its survivability now depends more on reducing incoming burst damage rather than self-healing. This makes Guardian Helmet ideal against assassins or mages that rely on heavy combo skills.
With these adjustments, each defense item now has a clearer role:
- Dominance Ice & Black Ice Shield = versatile defense against mixed damage.
- Twilight Armor = counter for heroes with fast attack speed.
- Guardian Helmet = protection from burst or one-shot combos.
Tank and fighter players will need to adapt their builds to the enemy team’s composition. This update is expected to shift item strategies in the 2025 meta, adding new depth to team play in Mobile Legends.
