9 Beginner Mistakes to Avoid in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

With the global release of Blue Protocol: Star Resonance just around the corner, both new and veteran MMO players are preparing to dive into its world. However, early mistakes can easily slow down your progress.

Based on feedback from Closed Beta players and discussions across Discord and Reddit, here are nine common beginner mistakes you should avoid to ensure a smooth start in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. Also check out our Blue Protocol Star Resonance Tier List and Star Resonance Beginner Guide.

1. Leveling Too Many Classes Early

One of the biggest beginner pitfalls is trying to level multiple classes at once. Each class in Blue Protocol requires a significant amount of materials, time, and energy to develop. Focus on a single main class until you hit a strong progression point before switching to another.

Splitting resources between two classes too early will slow your overall progress—especially with time-gated content and limited materials. Unless you plan to spend money on extra resources, stick with one class until you’re ready for endgame.

2. Mismanaging Skill Points and Abilities

Skills are divided into two systems: Ability Skills and the Skill Tree. Ability Skills have their own levels and are often locked behind character levels (around level 20–30). Resetting them requires Skill Reset Tickets, which are rare in early gameplay.

Test different skills first before committing points. Meanwhile, the Skill Tree can usually be reset freely, just like during beta. Always prioritize skills that match your main role—DPS, healer, tank, or support—for maximum efficiency.

3. Upgrading the Wrong Gear

Not all equipment is worth upgrading. Avoid spending too many resources enhancing blue-tier gear, as they get replaced quickly. Save upgrade materials for epic or legendary equipment.

While you can dismantle gear to recover some materials, rare resources like Skill Books are limited early on. Keep them for builds you plan to stick with, since these books provide major stat boosts.

4. Ignoring Daily and Weekly Tasks

Daily and weekly content are crucial for steady character progression. Make sure to:

  • Complete daily dungeons and raids.
  • Spend all available currencies before reset.
  • Visit the Season Pass Store and Reclaim Hub for essential materials, Reforge Stones, and Skill Books.

Don’t forget to do daily check-ins for both your account and guild—these small actions boost your guild level and unlock extra rewards.

5. Neglecting Exploration and Fast Travel

Always activate Teleport Stations marked by globe icons on the map. This unlocks auto-travel, which saves tons of time. Also, finish Terra Resonance Quests from NPC Ariana early on—these grant mobility abilities like High Jump and Dash, making exploration far easier.

6. Spending Daily Coins on Costumes Too Early

Fashion can be tempting, but don’t waste Daily Coins on cosmetic outfits at the start. Many players regretted this during the beta phase. Instead, invest your coins in gear upgrades or crafting materials first. You can always focus on cosmetics later once your character is stable.

7. Ignoring the Main Story Quest

Focus on the Main Story Quest (MSQ) before diving into side content. The MSQ unlocks vital systems—dungeons, vendors, and endgame access. Side quests can be saved for later once you’ve unlocked all major features. For efficiency, you can press Escape to skip or fast-forward cutscenes.

8. Wasting Summons on Weak Imagin

Imagin and Will Summons are a key part of character development. Avoid rushing to summon low-rank Imagin early on. Instead, focus on ones that improve your boss-fighting or farming efficiency. During the beta, players could choose three Imagin from a gift box, but the global version may limit this. Choose your Imagin carefully to match your build and playstyle.

9. Forgetting to Carry Potions and Food

Since Blue Protocol doesn’t feature automatic HP regeneration, healing items are essential. Always stock up on potions and food before exploring dangerous zones. If your class doesn’t have healing abilities, running out of potions mid-battle can be fatal.

Avoiding these beginner mistakes will make your early experience in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance far smoother. Focus on one class, spend your resources wisely, and stick to your daily and weekly routines. With patience and smart planning, you’ll build a powerful character and progress toward endgame content without unnecessary setbacks.
