What Are Pets in Grow a Garden?
Pets (or animals) in Grow a Garden are special companions that interact with your garden in unique ways. From boosting fruit growth to increasing mutation rates and even turning your crops into gold, these pets are a powerful addition to your gameplay. You’ll be able to obtain them through eggs available in the Pet Shop, which refreshes stock every 4 hours. With over 30+ pets to unlock, each offers something different.
Farmer Market Update Pet Tier List
- S Tier – Camel: The Camel is easily the most useful pet in this update. Gives real rewards through package drops Caravan gets stronger with more camels in the server. Rewards scale with fruit rarity and variants. Helps players progress without relying on mutation systems
- B Tier – Messenger Pigeon: Decent but situational. Sends out a random mutation every 4 minutes. Works like a reversed Fennec Fox with 100% success. Useful only if the mutation system becomes relevant again.
- C Tier – Shecklings The weakest pet of the three. Gives 1 Sheckles per second. Sacrifices itself every 6 minutes to apply coin mutation. Cannot be mimicked. Mutations and shekels aren’t valuable for most players right now. Unless you collect every pet, the Shecklings has very limited value.
Trader Update Pet Tier List – All You Need to Know!
S Tier
- Chimera A multipurpose late-game pet with effects tied to trading, item duplication, and passive egg generation. Its cooldown-based utility makes it valuable for progression and trading economies.
- Pack Mule Essential for maximizing profit with the new trading weight system. If you plan to craft and trade high-value items, this pet becomes mandatory.
- Bearded Dragon Divine rarity with an unfinished ability. Likely strong once fully added, but currently undefined.
A Tier
- Golden Piggy One of the strongest choices for leveling plants. If you’re pushing progression or rushing unlocks, this pet gives consistent value especially when paired with multiple gold cosmetics.
- Silver Piggy A great farming boost pet. Works best in large layouts and AFK grow setups. The scaling tied to silver cosmetics makes it strong if ingots are easy for you to produce.
B Tier
- Clam Useful for saving watering cans during long sessions. It shines during early and mid-game when resources matter more, but becomes optional as resources become easier to replace.
C Tier
- Magpie Situational and shines only for players focused on silver fruit farms. The random rewards are nice, but not consistent enough to push into higher tiers unless silver becomes meta-essential.
D Tier (Not Finalized / Unknown)
- Sheckling Exists in data but ability not fully revealed. For now, it’s considered a collectible rather than a functional pick.
Smithing Update Pets Tier List
S Tier – Best Pets in the Update
- Diamond Panther (Divine) One of the strongest pets in the game right now. Boosts pet progression by giving +1 age level to a random pet when harvesting high-mutation Fruit. Perfect for mutation-heavy gardens and long sessions.
- Ruby Squid (Divine) Copies one pet ability permanently. If you have an S-tier pet, Ruby Squid lets you double that effect for the entire play session. Great flexibility and huge scaling potential.
- Cheetah (Non-Egg) Wild Fast Mutation is extremely powerful for mutation farming. The transformation every 8 minutes helps speed up both progression and rare fruit outcomes.
A Tier – Strong and Reliable Pets
- Sapphire Macao (Epic) A reliable source of Crystallize Mutation with a 15% proc rate every 8 minutes. Strong synergy with mutation chains.
- Geode Turtle (Rare) Geode Sprinkles and Geode Mutation are great for crafting and mutation farming. Converts Advanced Sprinkles passively, saving time and grind.
- Smithing Dog (Non-Egg) Coal is essential for crafting in this update. A 10–20% chance every 5 minutes is solid and very helpful for early- to mid-game crafting.
B Tier – Niche, Situational, but Still Useful
- Emerald Snake (Legendary) Good for event cosmetic farming. Converts Fruit into cosmetic materials every 7 minutes. Not required for progression, but useful during events.
- Goblin Miner (Non-Egg) Random rewards are nice but not reliable enough to place higher. Works well as a background pet for extra materials.
- Amethyst Beetle (Epic) Beetle battles can give rewards, but RNG-heavy and depends on beetle strength. Fun, but not essential to progression.
C Tier – Limited Use or Risky
- Tapa Snail (Rare) Cleansing Pet Shard triggers from Lucky Harvest, which is decent early game but falls off later compared to mutation-focused pets.
- Smith Pet (Common) Reduces a random pet’s age by 1 every 11 minutes. This can ruin a setup if it targets important pets. Only useful for very specific farming builds.
