The latest Fisch update has officially arrived, and while it’s considered a smaller patch before the major Fish Fright 2025 event, it introduces two significant features — the new max level cap and the appearance of the Ashclaw boss inside the volcano. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about both updates, from new level rewards to Ashclaw spawn mechanics and hidden items.

Max Level Cap Raised to 1,500

Players can now level up beyond 1,000, reaching a new maximum level of 1,500. However, note that XP didn’t roll over from before this update, so everyone restarts at level 1,000. You can still claim any stored XP in your aquarium to speed up your progress. Here’s a breakdown of the new rewards as you level up:

  • Level 1,100 – Elite Glider
A faster and more stylish version of the Advanced Glider with red and black colors and a lightning-like particle effect. It’s visually impressive and pairs well with the Glimmer Fin Boots for high-speed travel.
  • Level 1,200 – Chromatic Bobber
This bobber has a colorful RGB design. It doesn’t add new effects or sounds but serves as a nice visual upgrade for your fishing setup.
  • Level 1,300 – Chromatic Lantern
A bright, RGB-themed lantern that outshines most others in Fisch. It fits perfectly with the chromatic item set and lights up your surroundings vividly.
  • Level 1,400 – Chromatic Titan Boat
A flashy RGB boat with 145 speed, 50 steering, and 1 S acceleration. It’s fast and quiet, perfect for showing off even if it’s not the most practical boat in the game.
  • Level 1,500 – Cinder Block Rod
This final reward has mixed reviews. Its stats include -50% lure speed, 100% luck, 0.7 control, and 1,000% resilience with an extremely high weight capacity. While durable, it’s painfully slow and underwhelming compared to other rods. Players hope future updates will buff its performance or add RGB customization.

Ashclaw (Crab Event) Explained

The other highlight of this update is the Ashclaw, a massive volcanic crab that functions as a rare cataclysmic fish. How to Find and Spawn Ashclaw:

  1. Travel to Roslit Volcano.
  2. The Ashclaw spawns naturally — no special items or actions are required.
  3. The spawn chance increases with the number of players fishing inside the volcano.
  4. When it appears, you’ll get a notification: “The Roslit Volcano has erupted.”
  5. Head straight inside; the Ashclaw will be visible near the lava pools.

Catching the Ashclaw is tough, with a -95% catch rate, making it one of the hardest encounters. Its preferred bait is coal, and catching it announces your achievement globally in the server.

Other Additions

Several new cataclysmic fish were added to the ocean biome. Like the Ashclaw, they spawn naturally and are more likely to appear when multiple players are fishing. Each has preferred baits such as Meteor or Stag Beetle.

Additionally, a limited Stone Hammer Rod appeared briefly during an “Admin Abuse” event, handed out directly by the developer Nick. It has 100% lure speed, 100% luck, and a hammer sound effect when catching fish — but it’s currently unobtainable.

The Ashclaw and max level update in Fisch may be a smaller pre-event patch, but it sets the stage for next week’s massive Fish Fright 2025 release. The new level rewards offer vibrant chromatic visuals, while the Ashclaw adds a fun, community-driven spawn mechanic that rewards group fishing.

While the Cinder Block Rod might not impress everyone, this update keeps players active and prepares them for the upcoming content wave. Stay ready — the next update is rumored to be Fisch’s biggest yet.
