The latest Dusty Trip update introduces a brand-new free car — the Haulmate. This vehicle isn’t just another ride; it’s designed for players who love collecting and transporting items across the desert. Here’s a full guide on how to unlock the Haulmate car and what makes it worth adding to your garage.
Getting Started: Prepare for the Desert Map
To start the process, head over to the Desert Map. Before you begin farming parts, it’s best to bring a large vehicle, such as a semi-truck or the Steel Bed Car. The bigger your car, the more items you can load, which means faster progress when selling parts for points. If you don’t own a large vehicle yet, the Steel Bed Car is a great free-to-play option, and it’s ideal for hauling scrap materials.
How to Earn Points to Unlock the Haulmate
The goal is to collect 777 scrap points. You can earn these points by selling items like:
- Engines
- Shields
- Doors, wheels, and other spare parts
Engines and shields give the highest number of points, so prioritize collecting those. Drive toward 1,500 meters on the desert map — that’s where the new selling station is located. You can collect items along the way or go past that point, then return to sell everything you’ve gathered.
At the selling station, place your scrap on the rack and “smash” it to convert the items into points. Keep doing this until you reach 777 points. You’ll have around two weeks to complete this before the event ends. Once you hit the target, the Haulmate will automatically appear in your garage.
After unlocking it, you can equip the Haulmate and test its performance. The car has an average top speed of 104 km/h, which is slightly lower than other free cars that range between 108–135 km/h. While it’s not the fastest option, the Haulmate focuses more on utility than speed.
The back area has no seats — just a large empty space for loading objects such as mutants or cargo. It even features a trailer hitch, letting you attach a trailer to expand your hauling capacity. This makes the Haulmate perfect for long collection runs. When tested, the car consumed minimal fuel and oil, making it efficient for long drives.
The Haulmate car in Dusty Trip might not win any speed races, but it’s a reliable workhorse for hauling resources and exploring efficiently. With its large storage area and trailer support, it’s one of the most practical free vehicles currently available. Collect your scrap, earn those 777 points, and add the Haulmate to your garage before the event ends. It’s a grind, but the payoff is worth it for players who love building and transporting in the desert.
