The Mimic has returned with a spine-chilling Halloween Spotlight event filled with terrifying monsters and hidden treasures. Players can earn two exclusive rewards—the Rune and the Key—by surviving two nightmare scenarios: the Haunted Asylum and the Nightmare Circus. Both challenges test your stealth, courage, and teamwork as you try to escape horrors that hunt you in the dark. Here’s a full walkthrough on how to conquer each stage and claim your rewards.

How to Get the Rune in The Mimic

When you enter the Halloween Spotlight hub, accept the teleport prompt to reach the event lobby. From there, select the challenge titled Halloween Trials 2024. You can complete this mission solo, but teaming up with others makes it far easier.

Once you spawn inside the Haunted Asylum, walk straight down the hallway until you reach the first room with music playing. Inside, you’ll find a table, a jack-o’-lantern, and a record player. This is your safe zone—the only area where the monster can’t reach you because it’s repelled by the music.

Your goal here is to unlock three safes and burn the cursed items inside them at the fire in the safe room. The safes and their keys always spawn in the same spots, but beware—the asylum is patrolled by a crawling creature that can knock you out and send you back to the start. If you hear its screech, hide or run back to the music room immediately.

First Safe Location

1. While facing the table in the music room, go through the door behind it.
2. Check that the hallway is clear, then walk straight until you see a safe.
3. Turn right into the next room and look under the bed for the first key.
4. Unlock the safe, grab the item, and return to the music room.
5. Burn the object in the fire on the table to complete the first step.

Second Safe Location

1. After burning the first object, exit the music room and turn right.
2. Continue through the hallway, then take a left into a larger open area.
3. Stick to the right wall and check under the sink in the back corner for the second key.
4. Return to the music room and go upstairs to find the second safe.
5. Unlock it, grab the cursed item, and burn it in the fire.

Third Safe Location

1. Head out of the music room again, turning right down the hall.
2. Take the next left and continue until you reach a short fence.
3. Look behind the fallen metal shelf to find the third key.
4. Go back to the area where you found the second key, but this time head straight down the middle path.
5. Open the third safe, collect the item, and burn it in the music room to receive the Rune.

Once all three objects are burned, you’ll automatically earn the Rune and complete the Haunted Asylum challenge.

How to Get the Key in The Mimic

The next part of the event takes place in The Nightmare Circus, where you’ll fight through three deadly sections: the Circus Outskirts, the Circus Tent, and the Ringmaster Boss Fight. You can play solo, but going in with friends makes this much more manageable.

The Circus Outskirts

After spawning, head toward the circus tent. A cutscene will introduce a creepy clown who wants to play tag. He roams the area searching for you—if he spots you, hide under one of the carriages, since he can’t reach you there.

Your task is to find and activate seven jack-in-the-boxes scattered across the area. Hold the interact button until each toy pops out. Once all seven are activated, you’ll unlock the next section.

The Circus Tent

Here, the Ringmaster welcomes you to a deadly game of hide-and-seek. After the cutscene, run into any tunnel to begin.

Avoid the Ringmaster at all costs—if he catches you, you lose a life. Hide under tables whenever you hear him nearby. Your goal is to find six giant playing cards stuck on the walls, each displaying a number indicating its order in a code sequence.

If you’re in a group, communicate which cards you’ve found using chat. When all six are discovered, go to the yellow exclamation mark to input the full code. There’s no penalty for wrong guesses, so you can try combinations until it works. Once entered correctly, you’ll move to the final stage.

The Ringmaster Boss Fight

You’ll be teleported to an arena where a massive version of the Ringmaster awaits. Pick up a knife and get ready—the fight is long and intense. The green bar shows his health, while the blue bar indicates stamina. Each attack drains his stamina; once empty, you have a short window to strike. Watch for red glowing areas that signal incoming attacks and dodge quickly.

The Ringmaster’s attacks include:

• Arm Slams: Giant arms strike across the arena, leaving only small safe zones.
• Missile Barrage: Red circles appear before explosives fall—keep moving.
• Top Hat Spin: His hat spins rapidly around the arena, dealing heavy damage on contact.
• Laser Eyes: Slow-moving beams sweep across the field—dodge them fast.

Defeat him to earn the Key, completing the Nightmare Circus challenge.
