The spooky season has arrived in A Universal Time (AUT), and Update 5.5 brings back the long-awaited Halloween Event, alongside a new mastery system, improved emotes, console enhancements, and more surprises for every player. Here’s a full breakdown of everything included in the latest update — from collecting candy to earning exclusive rewards.
Halloween Event Returns
This year’s Halloween celebration in AUT revives the event from last year, complete with familiar mechanics and returning quests. Players can collect candy by defeating Halloween-themed enemies in the Cathedral, then trade it for uE (Universal Essence).
To start, visit The Sigma of Halloween NPC located in West Park. Here, you can exchange your candy for uE and spend it on Halloween Crates or Halloween Kill Effect Crates to unlock seasonal skins.
Additionally, Shinigami and its questline are back for a limited time, giving players another shot at earning the powerful subpower.
Candy Drop Rates:
- Green Candy – 25%
- White Candy – 100% (unless you already receive Green Candy)
How to Obtain Halloween Rewards
Players can collect candy in multiple ways during the event:
- Defeat Halloween Enemies Head to the Cathedral, where themed monsters spawn throughout the event. Each enemy has a chance to drop candy based on rarity.
- Take Down the Raid Boss – Hollow The returning boss Hollow spawns every hour at the Cathedral. It’s a high-difficulty encounter, so teamwork is key. Defeating Hollow grants the following potential drops: Purple Candy (10%), Green Candy (90%), Cursed Apple (50%), Pumpkin (10%), “Grimharrow” Title (requires at least 10% damage dealt)!
- Exchange Candy for uE
Visit The Sigma of Halloween at West Park to convert collected candy into uE. Use the uE to roll on Halloween crates for limited-time skins and effects.
Other Major Additions
- New Mastery: Shinigami Players can now increase Shinigami’s Mastery Rank up to Rank 10 using Pumpkins. Each rank grants powerful bonuses like new effects for skills and increased soul cap.
- New Subpower: Serpent’s Laceration Inspired by the BlazBlue series, this subpower can be obtained from the Denizen of Hell with a 75% drop chance. It offers up to 3 stages, enhancing damage and granting hyperarmor at max level.
- Emote System Rework Emotes are now treated as inventory items. Players can assign number keys, open the new emote UI with the comma (,) key, and manage all emotes directly from their inventory.
- Console Overhaul Console users can now bind moves to combinations of D-pad directions and buttons for improved customization and better control feedback.
New NPCs and Area
Several new NPCs have been added to guide players through the event:
- Bawx – Found at West Park, teleports you to the Cathedral.
- The Sigma of Halloween – Exchanges candy for uE.
- Distinguished Wolf – Initiates the Shinigami quest.
The Cathedral itself is a brand-new area filled with Halloween enemies, Hollow raids, and event-exclusive rewards.
