Grow a Garden Secret Halloween Merchant Update!
The latest side update for Grow a Garden just dropped, and it’s packed with spooky new items and limited-time rewards. This isn’t the big weekly update — the Safari Update is still on the way — but this Halloween Merchant event (Update 1.29.2) offers 24 hours of exclusive content that players won’t want to miss. Let’s go over everything included in this new patch and why you should jump in before it’s gone. Also check out our Grow a Garden Codes for more rewards!
Limited-Time Halloween Merchant
The biggest feature in this patch is the Secret Halloween Merchant, which appears where the usual merchants spawn. This vendor will only stay for 24 hours, offering Halloween-themed items and decorations. Everything here is fairly priced, and the stock is limited, so you’ll want to grab what you can before it disappears.
Here’s a full list of what you can get:
- Spider Vine Seed
- Monster Flower Seed
- Spectre Pet
- Fright Work (Firework)
- Vampire Fang
- Lech Statue
- Skull Fence & Cemetery Fence
Each of these adds a creepy, seasonal vibe to your garden — with some surprising mechanics tied to them.
New Halloween Plants

Spider Vine
This plant spreads like grapes but glows white and grows small spiders as fruit. It’s one of the most creative Halloween plants so far. Despite the eerie look, it’s quite profitable — selling for around 40,000–82,000 shekels, depending on growth size.
Monster Flower
A monstrous bloom that looks like a mix between a honeysuckle and a Venus flytrap. Its value ranges from 40,000–61,000 shekels, making it slightly less profitable than the Spider Vine but still worth planting for its unique design.
New Items and Accessories
1. Fright Work (Firework)
A limited-use firework (about 175 uses total). It’s purely visual, so once the effects run out, it’s gone for good — a nice collectible for players who like exclusive event items.
2. Vampire Fang
One of the best additions in this patch. Using it temporarily turns your character into a bat for around 30–40 seconds. It’s great for exploring your garden from above, and players are already hoping this feature becomes permanent.
3. Spectre Pet
A ghost-like pet that’s both adorable and useful. Every 13.5 minutes, it haunts a random fruit with a 25% chance to cause a mutation — Vamp, Spooky, or Ghostly. It’s similar to the Serpent pet, though slightly weaker. If you collect eight of these, it can make events like the Reaper much easier to handle.
Decorations and Fences
Two new fence designs are available — the Cemetery Fence and Skull Fence. Both fit perfectly with the Halloween aesthetic, though the Skull Fence seems to be the fan favorite for its detail and creep factor. You’ll also find the Lech Statue, a decorative centerpiece that adds to your haunted garden’s look.
The Halloween Merchant Update in Grow a Garden is a short but fun surprise packed with creative seasonal content. From transforming into a bat to growing spider-filled vines, this side event adds a refreshing break before the bigger Safari Update arrives.
Since this merchant and all event items disappear in under 24 hours, it’s best to log in immediately and grab what you can. Even though the new plants aren’t top-tier for money-making, they’re perfect for collectors and players who enjoy limited event rewards. Stay tuned for the main weekly update tomorrow — but for now, don’t miss your chance to claim these exclusive Halloween goodies before they vanish.
