Top Meta Units (S+ Tier)
Dio Over Heaven
Easily the strongest unit in Update 9.0, Dio sits at the top of the meta as both a DPS and support powerhouse. He can rewind time, apply multiple status effects (burn, freeze, stun, etc.), and buff himself while debuffing enemies. His versatility and sheer power make him a must-have unit for every player.
Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight introduces the new Charm System, allowing you to customize his abilities before each match. Each charm modifies his stats — from range, SPA, and damage to passive auras. He’s a full AoE unit that can gain spirits during combat, which are used to boost attack power and activate special effects. His combination of flexibility and damage potential makes him one of the most complete units this update.
Godzilla
Another dominant addition, Godzilla offers massive AoE damage with an added burn effect that deals 50% of his total damage over time. He buffs all DoT units (like Dio and Konosuba) and has an active beam attack that deals up to 400% boosted damage. This synergy and destructive potential make him an absolute meta pick.
Shirou Emiya
Armed with an arsenal of weapons and dealing up to 800k DPS, Shirou ranks just below Godzilla. His wide attack range and consistent damage output make him a top-tier DPS for most stages.
Strong Performers (A Tier)
Konosuba
Konosuba shines as both a support and offense unit. He has multiple summons and attack types, offering team buffs, damage boosts, and status effects like bleed or burn. His versatile moveset makes him an excellent addition to nearly any team comp.
Wonder of You
A unique aura-based unit that deals increasing damage as he moves toward enemies. The closer he gets, the higher his damage—up to 300% of his base stats. Great for passive farming and sustained output.
The Cat
A surprise meta support unit, The Cat applies and amplifies DoT effects while boosting allies with similar abilities. Perfect when paired with units like Godzilla or Dio.
Ruby Rose
Ruby’s damage scales the longer she fights, gaining up to 200–300% attack bonuses as more enemies enter her range. She’s a reliable DPS that grows stronger over time, fitting perfectly into long-stage runs.
Doomslayer
A fun and powerful ranged unit with solid attack stats. While not game-breaking, he provides steady damage and is enjoyable to use.
Decent Units (B Tier)
Deku (Anniversary Banner)
Though highly anticipated, Deku didn’t meet expectations. His inconsistent SPA and lack of reliable scaling make him weaker compared to other new units. He’s usable but not optimal in current meta stages.
Spot
Spot has infinite range but deals only 50% of his base damage to targets outside his normal radius. Decent for flexible worldline runs but not strong enough to compete with top-tier DPS options.
Ridian vs Samuel
Battle Pass units that deal solid damage and never stop attacking, though their burst potential falls short compared to the heavy hitters. Great for midgame players or filler DPS.
Update 9.0 delivers one of the most balanced yet explosive metas in Anime Vanguards. Dio, Hollow Knight, and Godzilla dominate the field thanks to their raw power and synergy with status or DoT-based teams. If you’re planning to summon, prioritize these three before anything else. As the community continues testing, placements may shift slightly—but for now, these are your best bets for mastering Update 9.0’s content.
