Reaching Sleepywood 75 unlocks one of the most important team activities in MapleStory Idle RPG: the Easy Party Quest, or EPQ. This mode lets you fight King Slime with up to four players, and it’s one of the best places to farm UR Rings early on. If you just unlocked EPQ or want to farm rings more efficiently, this guide breaks everything down step-by-step. Also check out our MapleStory Class Tier List and Codes for more rewards!

How EPQ Works

EPQ is a four-player fight against King Slime, and you’re given 7 minutes to finish the run. The goal is simple:

  • Beat King Slime
  • Hope a ring drops
  • Repeat the run as many times as possible

You can use the auto queue, but it’s often better to form your own party. With a full team, you can run EPQ nonstop without waiting.

Many players farm Squashy Rings, and getting one can take time. Drops aren’t guaranteed, but with a decent team you can average multiple rings per hour.

Fighting King Slime

The fight is straightforward, but there are a few mechanics to know:

1. Basic DPS Phase

At the start, everyone focuses the King Slime in the center. Some classes can stay on ledges to avoid stuns, which helps with consistent damage.

2. Slime Jumps

King Slime can jump across ledges and platforms. Stay alert and reposition so you can keep attacking without getting stunned.

3. 50% Phase – Slime Healing Mobs

When King Slime drops to around 50% HP, it spawns smaller slimes both above and below.
Your team must:

  • Clear the mobs fast
  • Prevent King Slime from healing
  • Continue DPS once the adds are gone

Neutralizing the slime gives a short window where it takes extra damage, allowing fast kills.

How Long Each Run Takes

With an average team, each run takes around 2 minutes, making it one of the best grind spots in the early game.
With high-level players carrying, runs can drop to 30–40 seconds.

On a good farming session, you can expect:

  • Around 1 ring every few minutes
  • A mix of EXP and occasional drops
  • Fast repeated runs if you have a stable team

Tips to Farm Rings Efficiently

1. Form a Full Party

Auto queue can bug out or leave you waiting. It’s faster to:

  • Ask in world chat
  • Ask your guild
  • Check channel 1 for players looking for EPQ

Having a full team also reduces run times.

2. Always Accept the Queue

If one person misses the ready check, everyone gets delayed. Make sure your party stays active so runs continue smoothly.

3. Use Safe Positions

Most players stand on the top ledge to avoid stuns. King Slime will eventually jump up, but it gives you more window for damage.

4. Clear the 50% Mobs Fast

If your team doesn’t deal with the adds quickly, King Slime heals and the run drags on.

Ring Drops and What to Do With Them

You can collect multiple rings and choose which one you keep. You can:

  • Equip the best one
  • Save rings for later
  • Dismantle them for summoning points or stones

But keep in mind dismantling gives very little—sometimes just 1 point—so only dismantle duplicates you don’t need.

Players often aim for a good Level 50 Ring with strong stats. If you get a weak one, just keep farming.

Common Issues in EPQ

  • Auto queue gets stuck for several minutes
  • Sometimes players get disconnected after killing King Slime
  • Occasionally the ready check doesn’t trigger properly

Because of this, forming your own team is almost always better.

EPQ is one of the fastest and easiest ways to farm rings early in MapleStory Idle RPG. With a full party, you can clear King Slime over and over, collect rings, get useful materials, and enjoy rapid progress. Gather a good team, learn the simple mechanics, and start farming your UR Rings right away.
