Boss Talents Where Winds Meet Explained Guide & How They Work

Here’s a complete and easy-to-follow guide that walks you through how Boss Talents function in Where Winds Meet, how to unlock them, and what each boss-specific perk actually gives you. If you’re trying to push deeper into Sword Trial, Group Dungeon, or simply want to make boss fights smoother over time, this system is worth investing in.

Boss Talents basically act as passive boosts tied to individual bosses. Every time you meet the listed conditions in Sword Trial or Group Dungeon, you gain progress toward unlocking new perks—usually split into Offensive, Defensive, and Strategic categories. These bonuses apply only when fighting that particular boss, so the more you fight them, the stronger you become against them.

To find this menu, open Main Menu → Develop → Talents, then pick the Boss tab. Each boss has its own set of objectives and three talent lines you can upgrade. Check out our Where Winds Meet Codes for more rewards!

How Boss Talents Work

When you complete a specific challenge related to a boss, you unlock a tier of talents. Each boss offers three talent paths:

  • Offensive: Extra damage while the boss is in an Exhausted state.
  • Defensive: Reduces damage from key mechanics or adds mitigation effects.
  • Strategic: Boosts both damage and healing during the entire fight.

Once all three talent sets for a boss reach max level, you unlock a themed title for that boss. There are also special combined talent rewards, which unlock when you max out Strategic talents for certain boss pairs.
