Head of the Hei Jujutsu Shenanigans Guide, How to Get & Skill Explanation!

Head of the Hei is one of the most sought-after Early Access characters in Jujutsu Shenanigans, especially for players who enjoy fast-paced mobility, frame manipulation, and burst damage. The kit is built around Projection Sorcery, giving you a unique playstyle centered on speed, frame freezing, and precision. This guide covers everything you need to know—from how to unlock the character to a full breakdown of moves, strengths, weaknesses, and practical gameplay tips.

How to Get Access to Head of the Hei

Head of the Hei is an Early Access character, so you won’t be unlocking him with a code. The current requirement is obtaining access through the Early Access system, making him the 16th character added to the game and the 9th Early Access release.

Head of the Hei is inspired by Naoya Zen’in from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Naoya is a Grade-1 sorcerer known for his cruel personality and his inherited technique, Projection Sorcery. Though not the official clan leader, he rose to command the Zen’in clan’s elite unit, “The Hei,” which explains the in-game title.

Moveset Breakdown

Passive: Projectionism

A unique mechanic where the player’s basic attacks work differently from other characters.

  • Full M1 chain deals 10 total damage (2 + 2 + 3 + 3)
  • Attacks are significantly faster
  • Final M1 hit knocks the enemy back without ragdoll
  • Forward dash no longer deals damage, but you can dash twice in any direction

This passive makes your trades fast but low-damage unless paired with other abilities.

Passive: Frame Freeze

Landing certain moves fills up a Projection Meter under your target.
Once the meter fills completely, the enemy gets frozen for 3 seconds, letting your next hit deal triple damage. Only the first hit benefits from this multiplier.

Meter Gain Sources:

  • Final M1 hit: +40%
  • Projection Breaker (only at 0%): +80%
  • Decisive Strike: +30%
  • Bleedout reduces the meter by 10%

Frame Freeze is the core of your burst damage.

Projection Sorcery (Special)

A high-speed blitz that lets you reposition instantly.

  • No damage
  • Consumes 5% Awakening meter
  • Leaves an afterimage
  • Cooldown: 18s

Ideal for dodging, engaging, and repositioning when setting up combos.

Projection Breaker

A backward dash followed by a spinning forward kick.

  • Deals 9 damage
  • Adds 80% Projection Meter if the target was at 0%
  • Launches opponents
  • Cooldown: 17s

This is one of your main meter starters.

Bleedout

A forward stab that applies the Bleed status.

  • Cannot kill enemies
  • Applies 3 Bleed stacks; using it again converts remaining Bleed into Hemorrhage
  • Hemorrhage drains HP over time (up to 50 damage)
  • Immune: Blood Manipulator class
  • Cooldown: 20s

This dramatically increases your total damage output if applied correctly.

Decisive Strike

A teleporting jab that leads into a barrage.

  • 5 damage jab, 9 damage barrage
  • Bypasses ragdoll
  • Cooldown: 18s

You can reposition your camera mid-sequence to change your final angle.

Cursory Impact

A fast step into a smack + sweep combo.

  • 7 damage smack, 5 damage sweep
  • Cooldown: 16s
  • Can launch targets if they are frozen, letting you throw them afterward

Great for punishing frozen enemies.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Very high mobility and fast movement options
  • Strong burst damage through Frame Freeze
  • High damage potential with Bleed and Hemorrhage
  • Good mix of gap closers and combo extenders

Cons

  • No downslam or uppercut options
  • Bleedout cannot finish opponents
  • Forward dash lacks damage
  • Several moves have long wind-ups
  • Weak block-breaking options
  • No Awakening available

Tips & Useful Tricks

  • Use Decisive Strike and immediately rotate your camera to appear behind blocking opponents.
  • Projection Breaker travels farther if you rotate your character right after the first dash.
  • When an enemy is frozen, tools and throwables also deal triple damage—use this to secure huge burst.
  • When using Cursory Impact, don’t move forward too much or you may overshoot and miss the follow-up.
  • After your 4th M1, dash forward instantly to combo into Bleedout for extra damage and Projection Meter gain.
  • This character rewards quick pokes, spacing, and hit-and-run tactics rather than long combos.

Head of the Hei offers a fast, technical playstyle built around meter management, precise hits, and sudden burst windows. Once you master frame freezing and bleed stacking, you’ll be able to outpace and outmaneuver most characters in the game. With patience and solid timing, Head of the Hei becomes one of the most dangerous duelists in Jujutsu Shenanigans.
