How to Get Phantom Mutation Fisch Guide

Phantom Mutation is one of the standout features added to Fisch in Update 1.57, giving certain fish a dark, ghost-like appearance and a big boost in value. Unlike most Mutations, this one isn’t random—you can only get it with a special rod found deep inside The Sanctum.

This guide breaks down what the Phantom Mutation does, how it works, and the full steps needed to unlock the Eidolon Rod so you can start catching Phantom-mutated fish for big profits. Check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!

What the Phantom Mutation Is

The Phantom Mutation changes the look of a fish by turning it black, surrounding it with drifting shadows, and making parts of its body semi-transparent. It also increases the fish’s value through a built-in multiplier. To make this Mutation appear, you must use the Eidolon Rod, which is unlocked after completing the Obelisk quest line inside The Sanctum.

The rod is described as being filled with spectral energy. That’s why it can trigger the Mutation while normal rods cannot. The rod gives every catch a 35% chance of being Phantom-mutated. On average, this means one Phantom fish for every three catches, making it one of the most reliable ways to earn high-value fish.

Phantom Mutation Multiplier

Every Mutation in Fisch boosts the value of a fish through a multiplier. For Phantom, the multiplier is 4x, meaning the final worth becomes four times the standard price. While it isn’t the strongest Mutation in the game, it is extremely consistent thanks to the Eidolon Rod’s Mutation rate. Even beginner anglers who unlock the rod later on can farm Phantom fish quickly and sell them for hundreds of Coins each.

How to Unlock the Eidolon Rod

Getting the Eidolon Rod takes time, level grinding, and careful exploration. It costs 2,000,000 Coins, but the real challenge is opening the trapdoor that hides it.

To unlock the trapdoor inside The Sanctum, you must:

  1. Reach Level 350
  2. Activate 15 Obelisks spread across four areas: Cultist Lair, Hall of Whispers, Passage of Oaths, The Sanctum!

These Obelisks look like stone knight statues, and all of them must be activated before the trapdoor opens.

All Obelisk Locations

Hall of Whispers

  • 4404, -2234, -4703
  • 4393, -2205, -4711

Once all 15 are activated, return to the ground floor at the back of The Sanctum. The trapdoor will be open, showing the Eidolon Rod inside.

Eidolon Rod Stats

The Eidolon Rod has unique stats designed almost entirely around catching Mutation-based fish:

  • Lure Speed: 100%
  • Luck: 50%
  • Control: 0.25
  • Resilience: 0%
  • Max Weight: Infinite

Even though the rod has no Resilience, its ability to pull in fish of any weight and its exclusive link to Phantom Mutation makes it one of the most valuable rods in Fisch.

The Phantom Mutation is a strong way to boost your income in Fisch, especially once you unlock the Eidolon Rod. With guaranteed access to Phantom-mutated fish and a solid 4x multiplier, the rod quickly pays for itself. If you’re aiming to push your earnings higher or simply want to collect rare fish forms, completing the Obelisk quest and unlocking the Eidolon Rod should be one of your main goals as you progress through the game.
