Update 39 has officially landed in Build a Zoo, and this one brings a full Thanksgiving event, new items, new mutations, and several quality-of-life improvements. 1. Thanksgiving Event Overview

The centerpiece of this patch is the new Thanksgiving event. During the event period, players can get the new Turkey Egg and hatch five exclusive Thanksgiving-themed pets. These pets are limited, so make sure you farm event currency before the festival ends.

A new Thanksgiving mutation has also been introduced. Eggs moving through the conveyor may randomly receive this mutation when Thanksgiving weather is active. Players can also collect Event Points and exchange them for the new Thanksgiving title and board in the event shop.

2. New Pet Food — Acorn & Cranberry

Two event-exclusive pet foods have been added:

• Acorn: Feeding this can unlock a unique Thanksgiving Big Pet.

If you’re farming for rare results, save extras and feed slowly to avoid waste.

3. Aurora Mutation Weather

Outside the event, a new weather mutation called Aurora is now available. This mutation works similarly to Sandstorm, but with a twist. Aurora will always prioritize pets without weather mutations. If every pet already has one, it will override an old mutation instead.

This makes Aurora useful for players who missed earlier seasonal mutations or want to reroll unwanted effects.

4. Weekly Ranking Update

The leaderboard has been updated to a Weekly Ranking format. The in-game scene leaderboard now displays weekly results too. If you’re aiming for competitive placement, you’ll now need consistent performance each week instead of one-time domination.

5. Album Improvements

The album system received a useful update. Players can now earn Collection Rewards for completing parts of the album. The interface also now displays Max Size Bonus values, making progression and planning easier.

6. Settings and Optimization Changes

Two new settings options allow players to hide Sandstorm or Aurora mutation effects if the visuals get distracting. General performance has also been improved, so the game should run smoother overall.
