Fisch Merlin Quest Part 2 Guide, How to Start, Puzzles Guide, Craft & More!
Fisch just got another content expansion through Merlin Quest Part 2, and this one brings a long chain of objectives, crafting steps, and new mechanics. If you already cleared the four main shards in Part 1, this update continues directly from there and rewards you with new tools, new crafting items, and most importantly, Merlin’s Staff.
This guide walks through every step clearly, from entering the new zone to crafting the staff and unlocking the extra tools introduced in this update. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!
How to Start Merlin Quest Part 2

To begin, head to Sunstone and find Merlin inside his hut. If you haven’t submitted all four shards from Part 1 (Nebulous, Roots, Tide, and Embers), you won’t be able to continue. After turning in all four, his dialogue option will change to “I need to enter the chasm.”
Choosing this option gives you a temporary buff called Merlin’s Veil, which lasts 5 minutes. This buff allows you to enter a new zone marked by a purple symbol near the Sunstone entrance.
Equip any underwater gear you prefer — advanced diving gear, water bubble, or super flippers — then dive straight down into the purple mist. The teleport will take you into the new mines, which is where most of Part 2 takes place.
Solving the Crystal Platform Puzzle

Inside the mine, you’ll find three pedestals requiring three different items:
- Cut Gem
- Rough Geode
- Radiant Crystal
Each item is obtained differently.
How to Get the Cut Gem
Follow the rails inside the cave until you find a minecart. There’s a lever positioned above the tracks that lets you shift the rail path. Wait until the cart is below the rope bridge, then pull the lever. The cart will move to the wall and reveal the Cut Gem for pickup. This is the quickest piece to obtain.
How to Get the Rough Geode
To get this part, you need a spear. If you don’t have one yet, travel to the Lost Jungle — it’s located past Sunstone — and visit Spear Crafting in town. Spears available there:
- Flimsy Spear: 150 Fish Coin
- Steady Spear: 15,000 Fish Coin
Either works. After grabbing one, return to the mines and destroy the rock formations until a Rough Geode drops.
How to Get the Radiant Crystal
This is the rarest item of the three and must be caught with a fishing rod inside the mine. Using items like Nate’s Blade and Aurora helps speed up the catch rate. Fish in the same zone until the Radiant Crystal appears. Once all three are collected, place them on the pedestals. An animation will play, opening a cracked stone and revealing the Shard of Time.
Crafting Merlin’s Staff

Now return to Merlin. His shop now includes new items, including temporary boosts and endgame tools. To craft Merlin’s Staff, you must gather:
- Shard of Time (from the mines)
- Iron Chunk (drops inside the mine, often during Radiant Crystal fishing)
- Anomalous Log (easy to obtain at Roslit Bay using a rod with Anomalous)
Once you have all pieces, interact with Merlin again. Crafting the staff costs 1,000,000 coins, so make sure you’re stocked.
Merlin Staff Stats and Passive
The staff has strong base stats:
- 80% lure speed
- 102.54% luck
- 50 resilience
- Infinite max weight
The passive shrinks the control bar and speeds up progress when you hold the catch within the smaller bar. This rod is also required for new magical mutations.
Unlocking Mystic Mirror
The next major craftable item is the Mystic Mirror, which works as a teleport tool. Required items:
- Magic Mirror (sold by Traveling Merchant)
- Magical Crystal Geode (fished using Merlin Staff in mines)
- Glass Diamond with Magical Mutation (found in Overgrowth Caves using Merlin Staff)
Once crafted, the mirror can place a marker and teleport you back to it from anywhere in the world.
Twisted Relic and Returning Curses

The last major unlockable is the Twisted Relic.
- Price: 500,000 coins.
It reintroduces curses — an old mechanic from early access. Enchanting rods now carries risk, and curses have trade-offs. Examples include:
- Rage Fish movement stab boost -50% luck, -20% resilience
- Greed +50% fish size -30% lure speed
- Putrid None -10% luck
- Weak None -10% resilience
- Wobbly None -0.05 control
Some curses may help certain builds, while others are just drawbacks.
Totem Crafting Update

Totem Carving is now available, letting players craft rare totems that used to only appear randomly. This includes Kraken, Megalodon, Rainbow, and similar exclusive totems.
Merlin Quest Part 2 expands Fisch with a mix of progression, exploration, item upgrades, and new mechanics that change the way fishing works at higher levels. The biggest milestones here are accessing the mine, crafting Merlin’s Staff, and unlocking the teleport mirror.
The curse mechanic also adds variety for players experimenting with builds. More updates are expected for this storyline, so keep saving resources and watching for new unlocks. If you’re still working through Merlin Quest Part 2, use this guide as a path to follow, and you’ll progress smoothly without missing anything important.
