But before entering, you’ll need to collect four specific Guppy types as the access requirement in Fish It. Many players get stuck here because they don’t know the spawn pattern or where to fish, so this guide will walk you through how to get all four Guppies and unlock the Iron Cavern gate faster.
Why You Need the 4 Guppies
To open the Iron Cavern gate, you must place four unique Guppy fish onto podiums near the locked portal. Once placed, the portal unlocks permanently, and you won’t need to repeat the process again. The required Guppies are:
- Builderman Guppy
- Guest Guppy
- Brighteye Guppy
- Shedletsky Guppy
After all four are submitted, the Iron Cavern portal activates and becomes available anytime.
Where to Catch All Four Guppies
All Guppies can be found in Classic Island. They do not spawn in older areas or Fisherman Island zones. Once in Classic Island, head toward the river area that runs through the center.
This flowing-water section is the best spot to fish for all four types. Most of them share the same general spawn pool, so you don’t need to move around constantly. Spawn rates can vary depending on:
- Event buffs
- Rod rarity
- Luck stat
- Enchantments equipped
So having the right setup can make a big difference.
Tips to Catch Them Faster
- Use a Rod With High Luck Luck improves spawn chances for Uncommon and Rare fish. Since some Guppy types aren’t common, increasing luck helps reduce time spent farming.
- Turn Off Auto-Sell One of the biggest mistakes new players make is leaving auto-sell on. Since Guppies can be uncommon, they may auto-sell before you notice. Make sure it’s disabled until you confirm you have all four.
- AFK Fishing If you have auto-cast or auto-reel setups, you can AFK farm until all Guppies appear. With the rarity differences, this saves time and reduces manual work.
- Use the Classic Index The Index helps track which Guppies you’ve caught. Check it frequently to avoid duplicate farming after you already have a specific type.
After Collecting All 4 Guppies
Once the set is complete, go back to the Iron Cavern entrance. Place each Guppy onto the matching podium. After the final one is set, the gate will unlock and stay permanently open. Inside Iron Cavern, you can:
- Hunt Secret fish
- Wait for the Disco Event every 2 hours
- Catch mutation and high-rarity fish
- Farm event-only collectibles
This makes Iron Cavern the main grind area for progression during the Classic event.
Unlocking Iron Cavern is the first major milestone of the Classic event. Since everything inside the cavern offers better loot and exclusive fish, gathering the four Guppies early is worth the effort.
