How To Catch the Chimera Pet Raise Animals Guide
The Chimera is one of the newest rare creatures added to Raise Animals, and catching it isn’t as simple as running into it. This pet requires a specific set of steps and a bit of patience. If you’re unsure how to trigger its spawn or what it can do once unlocked, this guide walks you through everything. Also check out our Raise animals codes for more rewards!
Requirements Before You Start

To begin the Chimera challenge, you must:
- Unlock the Everdawn map
- Be prepared to travel through multiple biomes in one run
- Avoid dying or reviving with Robux, because doing so resets progress
You’ll also need access to these maps in the same run:
- Everdawn
- Jungle
- Savannah
- One extra map of your choice (any works, but Corrupted Terrain is recommended)
How to Spawn the Chimera
To make the Chimera appear, you must ride three specific wild animals in a single game run:
- Snake
- Lion
- Dragon
Important rule: Riding them from the start menu doesn’t count. You must jump onto wild versions during the run.
Here’s the full method step-by-step:
Step 1: Start the Run
Pick any fast animal. Speed matters because:
- You need to reach 5,000 meters to spawn a Phoenix.
- Faster animals help despawn others behind you so new ones can spawn ahead.
Using a slow animal will make the process much harder.
Step 2: Find and Ride the Lion
The lion is the hardest part of this process because:
- It only spawns in the Savannah biome
- Spawn rate is around 1%
You can ride it before or after finding the dragon, but catching it early makes the process easier. If one doesn’t spawn, continue progressing and cycle through more Savannah biomes by outrunning animals to refresh spawns.
Step 3: Unlock and Ride the Dragon
To trigger a dragon spawn:
- Wait until 5,000 meters
- Ride a wild Phoenix
- Enter the Everdawn biome while on the Phoenix
A dragon will spawn automatically once the Phoenix crosses into Everdawn. Ride it, then move on.
Step 4: Ride the Snake Last
Snakes are common in the Jungle biome, so save this for the final step. Once you’ve ridden:
- Wild Lion
- Wild Dragon
- Wild Snake
The Chimera will eventually appear ahead of you.
Catching the Chimera
When the Chimera finally spawns, jump onto it like any other creature. It has three hearts, so avoid obstacles until it becomes tamed. If successful, you’ll see the trust message and it will be added to your collection.
Chimera Stats and Ability Breakdown

Once unlocked, here’s what you get:
- Speed: 12–16
- Health: 3 hearts
- Earnings: $5,000
- Ability: Chimera Wrath
Chimera Wrath cycles between four random abilities:
- Snake tail Venom blast
- Lion head Fear roar
- Dragon head Fireball explosion
- Goat head Charge forward attack
At launch, many abilities feel inconsistent or unclear. Some animations fire but don’t affect enemies, and effects like fear and venom aren’t fully understood yet. The devs will likely update and polish these features.
Is the Chimera Worth Using?
Right now, it’s more of a collectible than a meta pick.
Pros
- Unique multi-ability system
- Rare and satisfying to unlock
- Cool appearance and animation concept
Cons
- Low base speed
- Abilities are inconsistent and currently underpowered
- Harder to use compared to strong options like Savannah Ninja or Phoenix
For now, most players will unlock it for collection rather than performance.
Catching the Chimera takes some patience and planning, especially with the lion spawn rate and the dragon requirement in Raise Animals. While the current version isn’t as strong as it sounds on paper, updates may improve its abilities soon. If you’re chasing every rare pet or enjoy unique mechanics, this one is worth the hunt. Otherwise, your faster creatures will still be more practical for everyday runs. Stay tuned for possible buffs or fixes in future patches.
