How to Get the Kirin

Raise Animals Kirin Guide, Lightning Ascension Explained & More!

Kirin is an exclusive animal found near the bottom of the collection list. You can obtain it from the Mana Crystal with roughly a one-in-three chance. While that sounds decent, luck still plays a big role. Most players haven’t pulled one yet, so many only get to test it by borrowing from others.

Kirin’s Base Stats

Here’s what the Kirin offers at a glance:

  • Speed range: 14 to 24
  • Three hearts
  • Special ability: Lightning Ascension

Lightning Ascension lets Kirin’s horn charge up for around 10 seconds as long as you don’t crash or die. After the charge finishes, Kirin triggers a lightning blast that hits nearby obstacles. Each object struck gives a small speed boost.

How Lightning Ascension Works

While charging, the Kirin glows and emits a strong lightning effect. It looks cool, but it also comes with drawbacks:

  • The bright visuals block your view.
  • The final lightning strike doesn’t reach far.
  • Usually hits only two or three obstacles.
  • Doesn’t affect animals, only objects.

The speed boost you gain is also barely noticeable. In fact, Kirin slows down during its ability, which lets other animals pass you. That forces you to dodge them again, making the run more difficult.

Kirin is a fun concept with a unique visual effect, but its current performance doesn’t match its rarity. The ability looks impressive yet doesn’t provide much value during a run. If you’re collecting exclusives, Kirin is still worth adding. But if you’re looking for the best-performing animals, others like the Kitsune are much more reliable right now in Raise Animals.
