Cornucopia Rod Fisch Guide – How to Get the New Fischgiving Best Rod

The Fischgiving event brings one of the strongest rods the game has ever had, and players are quickly calling the Cornucopia Rod the new top-tier choice. This guide breaks down how to get it, what quests you need to clear, and why this rod is so strong compared to others.

If you’re jumping into the Fischgiving update, one of the biggest highlights is the Cornucopia Rod. Many players assumed it would simply be a seasonal extra, but the stats and passive make it rival—if not surpass—the Merlin Rod.

This guide walks you through the full process of obtaining it, completing the Moosewood quests, and understanding why everyone is grinding for this rod right now. Also check out our Fisch Codes for more rewards!

How to Start the Quest for the Cornucopia Rod

The entire process begins at Moosewood, where you’ll find an NPC named Pilgrim. He’s the main quest-giver for the Fischgiving event, and completing his tasks will eventually reward you with the Cornucopia Rod. Here’s what you’ll need to do step-by-step:

1. Give Pilgrim a Turkey

The first request is simple: hand over any turkey. It can be a murky, sunny, Shiny—anything works. After this, you’ll receive your first small reward, usually a themed bobber.

2. Trade Three Different Turkeys

You must give Pilgrim three different turkey types. They cannot be duplicates. Once the trade is complete, you’ll unlock the next quest stage and receive the Gravy Boat (a small event boat).

3. Bring Any Shiny Turkey

Next, Pilgrim asks for a Shiny turkey. If you’ve been fishing event bait, you likely already have one. Give it to him to move forward.

4. Talk to All 12 NPCs in Moosewood

This step is the most confusing because it’s easy to miss an NPC. You need to talk to all 12 characters around Moosewood, including:

  • The Trade Plaza NPC
  • The NPC on the left side of the plaza
  • The Shipwright
  • All characters around the main island area

Once you’ve talked to every NPC, Pilgrim will recognize your progress—even if it doesn’t register immediately.

5. Bring a Gravy Turkey

This turkey only comes from using the new event baits. Players have reported success using:

  • Cranberry Cluster
  • Gourd Bites
  • Pumpkin Pieces

The turkey mutations from this bait can result in a Gravy Turkey, which you can then hand over to Pilgrim.

Once he accepts it, you’ll finally unlock the reward you’ve been grinding for: the Cornucopia Rod.

Cornucopia Rod Stats

When you receive the rod, here are the base stats:

  • 90% Lure Speed
  • 112.7% Luck
  • 0.05 Control
  • 75% Resilience
  • 250,000 kg Max Weight

These numbers alone put the rod among the strongest in the game, but the real power comes from the passive effect.

Why the Cornucopia Rod Is So Strong

The passive is where things get ridiculous. Here’s what players have observed:

  • The rod applies gravy mutation, an 8× value multiplier, similar to the best money-making strategies in the game.
  • When paired with Cranberry Cluster, progress speed becomes extremely high.
  • It handles even high-progress-lock fish like Sea Prince and Sea Overlord.
  • It’s nearly impossible to lose fish unless you intentionally let the bar drop.

Even without considering any bugs, the rod is strong enough to outperform commonly used rods like Merlin and Astro Hook.

About the Current Bugs (Important Note)

Players have discovered a bug where:

  • Losing a fish causes the passive to keep stacking, even after catching another fish.
  • This results in massive progress speed boosts, sometimes triggering near-instant catches.

This bug has already been reported to the developers and may be patched soon. Although this stacking makes the rod absurdly powerful right now, it’s safest to avoid intentionally exploiting it.

Using the Rod for Money Grinding

Because the gravy mutation is so valuable, combining the Cornucopia Rod with:

  • Sea Overlord mutation,
  • Sea Prince mutation,
  • Cranberry Cluster bait,
  • and large fish targets

can turn it into one of the best money farming setups in the entire game.

This rod isn’t just a fun event reward—it’s genuinely the strongest tool for profit during Fischgiving.

The Cornucopia Rod is easily one of the best rods Fisch has released. With high stats, a powerful passive, and access through a manageable quest chain, it’s absolutely worth grinding during the event period. Whether you’re chasing rares, farming money, or completing your bestiary, this rod gives you a clear advantage. If you’re participating in the Fischgiving update, make sure to grab it before the event ends.
